ABSTRACT The words “greatest achievements happened by inclusion of different branches of science” said by greatest scholars of science came true in the recent scientific years. We have many achievements proving this statement; one of the greatest is Robotics. Robotics is the science and technology of robots, and their design, manufacture, and application. Robotics has connections to electronics, mechanics and software. In general the picture of robot gives a common man an idea of a big, heavy machine built of heavily cast metal and wires around that make it run. But due to the advancement in fields like nanotechnology, chip deg, polymers and plastic etc building different types of robots seems like a dream that will soon come true. This poster aims to provide a relevant approach in the field of robotics (how robots are built) and give a new dimension to man’s abilities and nature’s challenge. In order to be truly robust, developed robot systems must be capable of adaptation. Robot programming is never truly finished. It is always necessary to modify, tweak and tune our systems in the field. Environmental conditions in the real world are very different from the ones in our lab, causing sensors and actuators to perform differently. In this poster the history of robotics, history of robots, basics of robots are discussed clearly. The components of robots, structure, actuation, manipulation, locomotion, control of robots and human interaction with robots are described. We also discussed about different types of robots and how robotic surgery will work, their advantages and disadvantages. We thus conclude by presenting a wide variety of robot’s applications used in different fields.
