WARRANTY All Fermax products have a 24 months warranty. Fermax«obligation under this warrany, however, is expressly limited (at Fermax«option) to replacing, repairing, or issuing credit for any product returned to FERMAX within twenty four (24) months from date of shipment by FERMAX and then only if: (a) the defective product is returned to FERMAX, transport charges prepaid, (b) examination of the product discloses to FERMAX«satisfaction that defects in the product have not been caused by misuse, neglect, improper installation, repair alteration or accident and (c) returned material must attach the Authorization for return form. This warranty does not cover problems arising due causes with equipment (for example deficiencies in installation or incorrect wiring), nor breakdowns caused by incorrect manipulation of blows. LIMIT OF LIABILITY It is expressly understood and agreed that FERMAX is not an insurer that the products or services sold hereunder will perform functions or prevent: that FERMAX shall be exempt from liability for all loss or damage therefrom; and that insurance, if any, shall be obtained by the Distributor. Liability shall be limited to an amount to the consideration paid by the distributor for such products or services as the distributor exclusive remedy. DELIVERY 15 days after order confirmation and reception of payment. Allow 30 days for special orders. Every endeavour will be made by the Company to adhere to the delivery dates quoted, but such dates are only estimate and are not guaranteed neither shall they be a term of condition between the Buyer and the Company. The Buyer shall be responsible for arranging insurance on goods collected by their own carriers. Stand-alone - The easiest access control to install. No PC required. An ideal access control solution for indoors and outdoors, to manage a single access or door in the most practical and simple way. Swift and easy to install: only two power supply cables. Reader technologies available are keypad, proximity readers, radio frequency systems, Bluetooth technology and digital fingerprint.

Stand-alone in network - Secure and practical access control. PC required. The stand-alone access control system in network is recommended when you want to manage permits/restrictions for up to 32 accesses or doors from a PC. The on–line events record enables a fast graphic view of incoming and outgoing flow.

Centralized - The most complete and versatile solution. PC Required. Enables complete management of an installation with multiple accesses (up to 2048) and advanced access control functions. There are two systems: MDS and CAC. MDS is recommended in installations with audio or video door entry systems and access control functions, alarms and automation. CAC is the best option for purely access control installations thanks to its new functions: vehicle control and time & attendance for salary management. Also includes alarms management and automation.

Device that lets you unblock the door temporarily in safe conditions: identifier accepted or opening from inside by means of the exit button. There are several models distinguished by different operating features, installation and power supply. Depending on the type of protection against electrical power cuts: Normal operation (fail secure). The door is unblocked when the electric lock is powered. As an advantage, if there is a power cut the door does not unlock. The NO (normally open) terminal is connected from the electric lock relay. Inverted operation (fail safe). The door remains blocked while the electric lock is powered. It is unlocked by cutting off the power. An advantage is that if there is a power cut, the door does not block (fire systems). According to the type of installation, there are: Electrical lock/door release. Recommended in installations where we want to combine with the traditional lock and are normally installed embedded in the door frame. When activated, releases the latch to allow the door to open. Electromagnetic door release. Usually installed when there are security requirements against fire: outward opening doors, power shutoff during the fire alarm to facilitate evacuation. They are inverted type. An iron strip is placed in the leaf of the door and an electromagnet in the frame so that when the door is closed their faces are touching. The door stays closed while the electromagnet attracts the strip. Depending on the force with of attraction, it can resist pulling or pushing to try to open the door. The force is usually measured in Kg. When there is no space in the door frame to fit the lock or if we do not want to drill it, it can be mounted on the wall with special brackets. According to the type of power supply, there are: DC current. Characterized by being quiet. Inverted operation electric locks must be this type. AC current. They are noisy compared with DC locks. They generally have a higher consumption and work better in doors subject to some type of pressure: wind, bolt friction, etc. There are door release models with a built-in door sensor to detect if the door stays open accidentally.

Power Supplies When choosing a suitable power supply it is necessary to consider the consumption of all the elements in the system, especially the electric lock. It is recommended to use a magneto-thermal switch not shared with any other equipment to avoid power supply disconnections caused by them. It is recommendable to use an emergency supply system (with battery) to prevent doors blocking or unblocking in the event of power cuts. In centralized installations with long distances it will be necessary to place additional power sources in the access to prevent tension drops in the wiring.

Power Cutoff REF. 4475 POWER CUTOFF Lets you disconnect the electrical current to the devices in a room when the is not in. For connection, it is necessary to introduce the proximity card in the cutoff (only works with proximity cards). When the leaves the room they remove the card from the cutoff and then have 10 seconds courtesy to leave the room. Designed to be used as a complement to the stand-alone or centralized proximity readers, since the same cards are used. The is obliged to remove the card from the cutoff; otherwise they will not be able to open the door of the room.

PC Management Modules The system operating mode configuration, authorizations and cancellations and restrictions are handled via PC and sent to the central unit so that it works independently. The information generated by the installation (events) must be communicated to the PC in real time. To set up these communications, the PC must be connected to the central unit. The connection can be made locally or remotely, using one of the following devices:

Adaptor RS-232 to RS-485 (ref.2338) Connection between PC and central unit (or network of CUs). Also lets you connect the modem to the central unit for remote management. PC connection: RS-232 max. 30 mts. (cable 3 mtrs included). Connection to central: RS-485 (twisted pair). Max. 1200 mts. DIN6 format (surface mounted and DIN rail). Power supply 230Vac.

Adaptor RS-232 to RS-485 (ref.2466) Programming of addresses and parameters to decoders from the PC. Used for maintenance of facilities that do not have the PC permanently connected, as an installer tool. Includes an RS-232 cable with DB-9 connector for PC connection.

Technical Alarms and Automation Several sensors may be connected to the installation (up to 1000) to carry out automated activities based on the source of the detection. The sensors must be potential free , such as switches, pushbuttons, magnetic s, volumetric detectors, photoelectric barriers, etc. These sensors are managed by 'sensor decoders’, with capacity for 8 entrances, and connected to the central unit by the decoder bus, from which it is powered. NA or NC operating mode and the type of trigger (instant or delay up to 127 minutes) must be configured. For each group (100 sensors), the actions to take are indicated (not exclusive): Communicate the incident to the central console (security post). Activate one or several relays (ref. 2430) (always the same or different depending on the sensor). Switch status of a relay. Monitor the incident on the control computer (control post). Activate the electric lock of a given door. Subordinate the action to the simultaneous activation of another sensor (double signalling to avoid false alarms). Sensors can be enabled and disabled during a set schedule by means of the schedule planner or from the access control readers, when a identifier associated with a sensor is presented.

The most frequent applications of the sensors are the following: Technical alarms: Alarm messages in the PC control. Power failure, water leak, intrusion, etc... Construction of pushbutton s for timed activation of devices: vehicle barriers, opening doors, hallway lighting, etc. Door blocking depending on the status of other doors.

ACCESSORIES

In the installation it is possible to connect up to 1000 relays in the same decoder bus, to activate different devices in response to the activation of sensors or trigger them independently. The relays are implemented by 'relay decoder' containing 8 2 Amp. relays with NA and NC output. The relay decoder connects to the decoder bus, which powers it. For each output, timing (1 to 255 seconds or indefinite) and the initial status (active or standby) are configured.

There are several ways to trigger the relays: Schedule planner: activates and deactivates relays according to a set weekly schedule (up to 32 daily plans). From the access control readers. Each can have a relay associate with their identifier so that when it is presented, the associated relay status is switched while activating the door release. From the central guard - unit. Any relay can be activated or deactivated by entering its number and the desired status (active / standby). When a sensor or combination of sensors is activated. When the maximum capacity of a zone is reached. When there is someone in a zone.

Typical applications are: Automatic connection and disconnection of devices: heating, refrigeration, lighting, etc. Alarms connection and disconnection. Activation of sirens and warning lights. Unblocking of doors during a set schedule.
