The Achievements of the Union The Union has played a great part in the Life of the people in UAE. A high standard living has spread throughout the country. Many good things and projects have been achieved. Among the achievements which have taken place during the Union are the following:

1. Educational Achievements The Ministry of Education has set up many Schools that have thousands of Students. The following table shows the development of education in the UAE between the years 1972 – 1973 up to 1997 – 1998. School Year

Advantages of Education: • Scholarships • The UAE university was opened in Al-Ain in 1977 to become a Centre of learning for future generations. Other educational benefits in the UAE are: Building institutes ,Colleges and Kindergartens.

2. Constructional Achievements The Ministry of Public Labour and Housing has supervised many projects like: • Paving and illuminating roads. • Building houses for Nationals. • Building Dams to store rainwater. Advantages of these projects to the people of the UAE: • Less Traffic. • More water for many uses. • More houses for people.

3. Economic Achievements Some of the Advantages of Economic: • The Ministry of Finance and Industry and the Ministry of Petroleum and Minerals have developed national projects to benefit from the resources of the country, especially oil. Some of the Economic in the UAE are: • Oil-refining & Cement Factories • Aluminum Industries & Steel Industries

4. Achievements in the fields of Agriculture and Animal Resources Services offered my Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries to the Farmers: • The Ministry provides farmers with Equipment's and Seeds. • The Ministry helps farmers in digging Water Wells. Benefits of the Ministry to the Farms: • Up-to-date methods have been introduced. • Loans to the Fishermen are given. • Small ports have built along the coasts. • Marketing Facilities have been improved. • Farmers are supplied with boats, fishing nets and other things. • Farms are being developed to raise cattle and poultry.

5. Health Achievements Health services hospitals and clinics offer: • Healthcare facilities in Dubai • Medicines and pharmacies • Health insurance • Health hazards • Pre-travel restrictions and vaccinations • Emergency services Some Hospitals in UAE: • Al Zahra Hospital & American Hospital Dubai • Dubai Hospital & Mediclinic City Hospital

6. Security Achievements The ministry of interior supervises peace and security in the country and is always interested in having modern equipment to fight crime and punish law-breakers so that all people feel secure and safe.
