Being a Christian is a Life of Adventures presents what it really means to live as a true Christian follower of Jesus Christ. When a person finally decides to follow Christ, life takes a whole different level and meaning. Everything becomes holy and divine.

By examining the life of Jesus when He walked on Earth, it is easy to notice that He did not conform to the worldly norms. Of course, it was not just for show, but He showed us a better way of living — a kind of life that is filled with genuine love and kindness — a life that is filled with faith and miracles — a beautiful life — and this is the life that He offers that you can have — a life with God.

Sadly, many people today who claim to be Christians have become lukewarm in the practice of their faith that it is even difficult to recognize them as Christians. It is unfortunate that many of us have forgotten what it really means to be a Christian and disciple of Jesus Christ.

Being a Christian is a Life of Adventures shows being a Christian is a way of life that is filled with adventures. Indeed, being a Christian is not a boring life, but it is one that is filled with various experiences, challenges, wonders, meaningful spirituality, and miracles.

But how does one become a Christian? Regardless of your current spiritual beliefs and religious affiliation, know that you can be a true Christian by believing in Jesus and following Him. To be a Christian is to be like Christ. How does one become like Christ? Answer: By following Jesus — by following His words and divine teachings.

Being a Christian is a Life of Adventures deals not only with the holy teachings

of Jesus but also with the hard facts of life. Can one become pure and remain in a state of grace amid a world that is filled with evil? What should we do when this worldly life keeps pushing us down and making us suffer? Can we even do it? If yes, then how? : Knowing is one thing; doing is another.

Being a Christian is a Life of Adventures is also about having a personal relationship with Jesus that is deep and meaningful. Now is the time to take your Christian spirituality to the next level by having a profound relationship with the Divine.

Are you ready for a life of adventures? If yes, then let me now welcome you into a world of faith, hope, and love — a meaningful life with Jesus.

Who is Jesus?

Words will always fall short to describe Jesus. Jesus is the God who took human form and showed us the way of God. For many years, people wondered about God, about what God would want them to do, and how God thinks of them, among others. Jesus stripped Himself of His divinity and descended to Earth. He taught us how to live, how to pray, how to live a good and meaningful life, and how to be like Him. Not only that, but He also suffered and died for us in order to save our sinful souls from a certain damnation. He has given us Himself so that through Him, we can have life, even eternal life.

The best way to learn about Jesus is by reading the holy scriptures — the Christian Bible. Now, the Bible is actually a library of books, and it is a divine work. Do not worry; you do not need to read the whole Bible just to know about Jesus. You can read His life and teachings in the New Testament of the Bible in any of the synoptic gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Personally, I suggest that you start by reading the Book of Matthew followed by the Book of John, and then Luke and Mark. These books of the Bible are not long. You can easily finish one book at a comfortable pace in a day. By reading these books of the Bible, you will learn about the life of Jesus, His holy works, and divine teachings.

Learning about Jesus through the books written about Him is one thing; having a personal relationship with Him is another. Reading about Jesus is, indeed, an excellent step to starting a good relationship with Him. But, we must not forget that as a true Christian, we must go beyond reading — for we must also apply the teachings and enjoy a personal relationship with Jesus.

The more that we move closer to Jesus, the more that we can get to know Him on a personal level. Stop for a moment and consider: Who is Jesus to you right now?

Do not lie. Even the presence of Jesus in your life is not yet that grand and meaningful, it it. Being honest and humble are also important to your spiritual growth. Do not worry; the more that you get to know Jesus and have a meaningful relationship with Him the more that His meaning in your life will grow. This meaning will continue to grow the more that you grow as a Christian.

What It Means to Be a Christian

What does it mean to be a Christian? In this world, many people claim to be Christians, but many are only Christians by name, which is a very sad fact. A Christian is someone who is like Christ. If Jesus is our Master, then we must follow His teachings and live in accordance with His words.

If we have a closer look at the teachings of Jesus, they are not only good, but they also do not follow the way the world usually deals with things. For example, Jesus told us to love our enemies. In fact, He did not just teach, but He also lives by His teachings through positive actions. As when He was being crucified, instead of hating His accs and persecutors, He prayed for them saying, “Father, forgive them. They do not know what they are doing.”

Indeed, life as a true Christian is full of adventures for it is a life that is burning with love. There will be many challenges and risks, and they are simply part of the journey. Just like climbing a mountain, every climb offers its own risks and challenges — and they make the climb more meaningful and adventurous. It is also the way to learn and allow the soul to grow.

To be a Christian is to follow Jesus Christ. When you become a Christian, Jesus will be your Master. You will follow His teachings and whatever He leads you — not because you are enslaving yourself but because He will show you a better way to live — the path that leads to eternal life — into paradise.

Do not worry about the challenges, for Jesus will always be with you. Learning His teachings is one thing; applying them in your life is another. The experience is simply divine. As a Christian, you will learn all about this gradually. You will also feel His presence in your life. You will never be alone again. Every day becomes magical for you know that you are spending it with Jesus.

The life of a Christian is a meaningful and spiritual life. When you have a relationship with Jesus, you will also have a relationship with the Father, the Holy Spirit, Saint Mary, and the angels and saints, among others.

A Christian life is a life that is overflowing with love. It is not an easy path, but it is a sure way to heaven. After all, all adventures have their share of difficulties. As long as you stay with Jesus, you do not have to worry about anything, even if you ever reach places that angels fear to tread — because God is with you.

The best and only way to truly realize what a Christian life is all about is by experiencing it on a personal level. It should also be clarified that the Christian way of life is more than a mere philosophy of living. It means so much more than a collection of beautiful teachings. Rather, it is more about having a real and meaningful relationship with Jesus and following Him.

Are you ready to follow Christ? Are you ready for a grand adventure?

Following Christ vs. Following the World

Following Christ is far different from following the world. The world and its desires and illusions corrupt the mind and the soul, while following Christ gives life. If you follow Jesus, you should let go of worldly desires. This is the way to be truly free. How many people these days are owned and controlled by the things that they possess? To follow Christ, we cannot allow ourselves to be bombarded with so many material things that keep us busy and distracted. As the saying goes, “Less is more.” Moreover, once you have Jesus in your life, what else would be lacking?

The system of the world also teaches us to focus so much on ourselves, even to gain material wealth at the expense of others. When you are a Christian, you should let go of such sinful desires. Indeed, you can still be rich, but you ought to do it in a good way without violating other people. Moreover, when you walk this path, you will soon realize that there is so much more to life than material possessions. For, indeed, money cannot buy the greatest things in life.

Jesus said that whoever wants to come after Him must renounce themselves, take up their cross, and follow Him. This act of self-renunciation is an act of humility. It is also an act of letting go which frees us from the constraints and bondage of the world. It should be noted that this is actually for our own good, for we cannot know the divine Way if we do not let go of our current way of life.

This journey is unlike any other regardless of your circumstances in life because this journey is divine as it is a journey with God. Following the world is easy; you just have to go with the flow. The problem with this approach is that it never satisfies the soul. Our souls crave for God, and the only way to satisfy this craving, this need, is to unite with Divinity through the person of Jesus Christ.

We are lucky because Jesus has already shown and taught us how we should live — the path that leads to everlasting life. It is just up to us to actually take that

path and become one with Divinity.

Although the teachings of Jesus are always kind, good, and noble, you may find that they are not always easy to apply. The reason for this is that a part of us has been heavily influenced by the world that we often fall into its wiles even without us realizing it. When we draw close to Christ, we become aware of this truth, and we start to free ourselves from the shrewd and deceitful manipulations of the world. We become free.

Whether we follow Jesus or the world is something that is up to our own decision — but it is important that we decide on it; otherwise, there is a good chance that we will simply fall into being enslaved by the world just like the state of the majority of the people right now.

When we decide to follow Christ, then we renounce the world, for this world is ruled by the Son of Perdition, who is the Devil. It should be noted that the world does not mean nature — for nature is a creation of the Divine. But, the world as we know it today — a world full of manipulators, murderers, narcissists, a world of ego, vanities, and corrupt mentality, a world full of material desires even at the expense of human life, a world of evil and sin — a world that does not love.

If you are tired of such a shallow and meaningless world, then be a Christian and follow Christ — and you shall experience a meaningful life that is filled with wonder, hope, love, and spirituality.

Love Over Sin

Christian spirituality is one that is full of love. If you examine the teachings of the Master, you will see that His teachings are always about love. Now, many Christians are focused on sin — but it is worth noting that Jesus did not speak much about sin. Instead of feeling so down about your sin, Jesus tells us that He does not condemn us. As what Jesus told the adulteress who is believed to be Mary Magdalene, He said, “Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more.”

Jesus could dismiss whatever issues we have with our sins as if they did not even happen. We can move forward with our life — but this time, we will be following Christ, for His way leads to life.

But should we avoid sin? The reason for this is that sin separates us from God. The more we love the closer we come to God. But, the more we sin the farther we move away from God. But, it is not just about our relationship with God. When we choose not to sin, we actually do it for our own good. Sin injures and contaminates the soul.

Personally, I do not like the approach where you worry so much about sinning. Jesus simply told the adulteress, “Go and sin no more.” It is like saying just forget about it and go live a good life from now on. Jesus does not condemn us. Of course, this does not mean that we should keep on sinning; but rather, it means that we can focus more on the positive as we move on (move away) from negativity (sin).

When we love, sin cannot touch us, for love overcomes all sin — because God is love. We must also not forget that our goal is not only about avoiding sin; but more importantly, to elevate our spirituality.

Jesus taught us to love God and to love one another, even our enemies. Love is the fulfillment of the law, for love is beyond the law. Of course, this is easier said than done. In our world, we are often taught to give an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth — to take revenge. When we follow Christ, we do not take revenge. Instead, we forgive and love our enemies. When we follow Christ, we do not take advantage of other people for gain or wealth; instead, we help others even for free. As you can see, there will be many big changes in your life once you follow Christ — and this is the way of love.

When you take this path, you should be ready to let go of all your worldly desires. Before the Divine can fill you in, you must first give Him space by emptying yourself of the old self (the worldly and selfish self). After emptying yourself, He can and will fill you with His divine and everlasting love.

The Cost of Following Christ

Following Christ does not demand of us money or any financial requirements. However, this does not mean that the way will be easy. Indeed, it will be full of challenges and adventures. You do not need to look far away, for the journey itself lies before you: your life. However, when you follow Christ, know that you will no longer tread the path alone. This time, you will have a Master — and His name is Jesus. All that you need to do is to follow whatever He says, and you will be fine.

However, following the teachings of Jesus is not always an easy thing. For example, instead of earning more money at the expense of another, you will now have to let go of that money so that you can be fair to your neighbor. Instead of getting even with someone who has maltreated or insulted you, you now have to simply forgive them and even love them instead of getting even by hurting them back. Instead of being so busy with the things of this material world, you will now be more focused on your soul. Instead of trying to impress others by getting fame ng honor upon yourself, you will now humble yourself in prayer — and so on and so forth.

To follow Christ necessarily means that we let go of something — each time. This may not always be difficult especially if your own personal will is the same as the divine will. However, there are times when the will of our human nature may not be the same as the divine will. Of course, as a follower of Christ, we should always choose to do the divine will. It should be noted that this is actually good for us — for it is good for our soul. What good is it to gain the whole world when the soul perishes? We must also realize that we have a physical body but it is not us. We are a soul — and it is only right that we take good care of our soul.

We should count it as pure joy and a blessing that God has blessed us with the option of following Him. Since it is the divine way, it is only right to expect that it will be higher than the way of humans. This is why there will be times when our own human nature or instinct might contradict the way of the Lord, but it is important that we follow Christ during such trials as it is the way for our souls to

grow and become holy.

Therefore, when we follow Jesus, let us be humble and know the truth that we are doing it for our own good. Jesus has no need of us for He is God — but we need Him.

Pray

Prayer is a gift that allows us to touch the heart of God. Imagine being able to connect and talk with the Creator of the Worlds at any time. Imagine that this Grand Creator even takes the time and effort to listen to everything that you have to say. This is a gift that we already have right now. In fact, Jesus does not only hear us, but He also sees everything that we do, and He knows even the deepest secrets of our hearts.

As Christians, we ought to pray often. In fact, Saint Paul wrote that we should pray ceaselessly. Personally, I strongly suggest praying the Rosary. It is worth noting that the Rosary is a Jesus-centered prayer, and it is a meditation on the life of Jesus. Another prayer that I recommend is the Jesus Prayer: “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.” This is also a meditation where you repeat saying the prayer over and over again as you focus on it. Nothing must exist in the mind but the prayer. There are, of course, many other prayers that you can use. The book of Psalms in the Bible is also another precious collection of prayers that you can use. And, of course, we must not forget our own personal prayers.

It should be noted that prayer is a two-way communication. Therefore, when we pray, we must also be open to receive God’s answer in our life — and we must learn to be patient, as well as to accept whatever His answer might be. We must not question the wisdom of God, and we must never forget that His ways are much higher than our ways.

Silence is also a prayer if we do it with the awareness of God’s presence. Just be still and relax. Know that there is God and that He is with you. He sees you. the words in the Psalms: Be still and know that I am God.

Stop Thinking

When we follow Jesus , we trust in Him completely. Many times, it is better not to think. Let us not forget that God’s ways are higher than our ways. His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. Loving one’s enemies may seem silly and even stupid to many but not to God. Fortunately, the teachings of Jesus are clear and easy to understand. It is just up to us to obey.

Another problem with thinking and always rationalizing things is that doing so prevents us from experiencing the mystery and beauty of God’s wonders. It is also worth noting that thinking is a two-edged sword. Thinking is one thing; how we think is another. It is recommended that when we think, we should do so in accordance with the teachings of Christ. This is another reason why we should make it a regular habit to read the Bible, especially the life and words of Jesus.

Many times, we do not really need to think. Instead, we can simply the teachings of Jesus and follow Him. We should also be mindful of the thoughts that we keep in our mind. Let go of those thoughts that corrupt the soul for they are seeds planted by the devil. Instead, we should fill our mind with thoughts of Jesus. If our mind is full of Jesus, then our being also becomes holy and pure.

Have Faith

Faith means more than just believing, for even demons know and believe that Christ exists. Now, faith is not just something that we develop just overnight. Rather, it is something that grows as we grow as a true Christian and follower of Jesus.

When we have faith, then there is literally nothing that we should worry about. We can easily let go and let God. The more that our relationship with Jesus grows the more that our faith becomes stronger.

Religion is made by man while faith comes from God. Faith also allows us to create and establish a relationship with Jesus. Stop for a moment and ask yourself: How is your faith these days?

Faith requires trust. It is what allows us to let go and let God. In life, we may sometimes find ourselves in a situation where our human mind might want to choose another course of action instead of the one recommended by Jesus. As a Christian, we should let go of our gross human nature and follow the will of the Divine. This is also how we rise and elevate our spirituality.

If we have faith so strong and true, then nothing will be impossible for us. This explains how many saints were able to perform wonderful miracles. God worked through them. We can also be a channel through whom God can work His many wonders. Sometimes, in life, all it takes is a leap of madness — a leap of faith.

A Message

By being a Christian , we can be more than ourselves. A Christian is someone who is like Christ. Hence, when you follow Jesus, you become divine.

The path is not that easy, even Jesus said it to be so — but the reward is great and everlasting. The invitation to follow Christ is open and available to all and for all. If you are still undecided, then maybe you just have to give it a try to see it for yourself.

As for me, Christ saved me during the time when everything around me and within me was dark. He showed me the light — His Light. If you want to live a meaningful life, a life that is divine and full of love, I strongly recommend that you also draw near to Christ — and rest assured that He will also draw near to you.

Last but not least, let us be a Christian not only in words or titles, but more importantly, in our hearts, minds, and actions. And, in this big and uncertain world, no matter how dark things might become, always : Jesus is with you.
