Essay 1. 1. Given the lack of resources in our rural areas in the Philippines, what media can still be used for effective learning in schools? Why?
Teachers and student are using technologies as their partner in teaching and learning. Using technologies are much easier and convenient because it lessen the work of the teachers and student. Until now, there are some provinces especially the rural areas are lack of technological resources. As we all know using technologies nowadays are very effective for the students learning. However this is not a hindrance for the teacher and the students in their learning because even if there are no technologies involved in a classroom setting students can still learn through the use of traditional instructional materials such as posters, charts, illustrations, pictures, drawings or even textbooks they can also have the newspapers, articles, journals or even dictionaries. Students can go outside the classroom and go for the actual object for their topic. Since teachers aim to teach the students and to promote learning teachers should not only depend on technologies he/she should put in mind that the technology is only a partner of his/her teaching.
2. Computer shops are pervasive around schools, but these are mainly used for playing games. Without judging on the possibly dehumanizing effects of excessive computer game habits, how can a learner best use computer resources as they may be available in schools or at home? In school we can see a lot of internet café that makes the work or the assignments of the students easier. They can use the internet and surf for much information on all subject, but there are some students who make the technology a bane, some students used the computers for their pleasure, for playing games or worst for watching pornography. A student can best use computer resources that are available to their schools or home by ing the websites that are necessary for their learning and it is very convenient if the student has a printer at home in which he/she can easily print the information and assignments that he/she needs. If a learner has a computer at home he/she should look into the computer as his partner in learning, he should value the computer, and he should not abuse it because technology can be boon or bane

Essay 2 1. All college students are presently required to take Computer course including Word Processing, Spreadsheet Preparation, Presentation Techniques, etc. How do you think this will help application of skills needed in Ed. Tech. 2? Knowledge on word processing, spreadsheet preparation and presentation techniques can help college student on a course Educational Technology 2 to easily cope up with those technology needed in this course. Educational Technology 2 requires knowledge on different system software because it focuses on the use of technology. If a student doesn’t have a prior knowledge on those system software probably this will cause a burden to him. Educational Technology is a professional education for teacher they needed those skills to create their instructional material especially power point presentation because it catches the attention of the student in that way they can easily instill the knowledge, skills and value they’re supposed to teach. Furthermore, those system software help them to make the educational process effective and easily achieve the learning objective of the course. 2. From those have done internet surfing/searching/reading, what do the websites offer to the s? Surfing the internet will give a variety of websites to consult with if you have something in mind that isn’t clear to you and need clarification. Essay 3 1. How do Philippine schools compare with schools in progressive countries in the Asia Pacific region?
Those prestigious universities in the Philippines are equipped with technologies for education like those in Asia pacific region but in public schools they are very far behind compared with the schools in progressive countries in the Asia Pacific region. In rural regions in the Philippines they are lack of technologies and equipment to be used in the classroom. They are just using 1 projector for many sections. Classroom are not air-condition aside from computer courses because they have computer laboratory. They have limited internet access and if they have they can’t use it properly because the signal is weak. Student doesn’t have an opportunity to acquire computer skills if they are not enrolled in computer course because the general education only offers basic computer skills. Some students graduated High School without knowledge on Microsoft Office, the simplest MS Word they can’t perform. Manipulating computer are burden to them. In progressive countries in the Asia Pacific Region their grade school knows how to operate computer. There were really a gap betwixt Philippine School in progressive countries in the Asia Pacific Region. Hoping that this students of millennial could cope up with the advance technology of other country. Teachers should instill the appropriate knowledge for the students to be globally competitive in spite that their schools are not equipped with technologies. 2. The master plan of the DepEd is to supply computers to public elementary and high schools at a ratio of 1 school – 1 computer. How adequate or inadequate do you find this plan considering that the public schools system in the Philippines has an average of 1,000 students in each schools. One computer per school this is indeed inadequate. Assuming that there are 1,000 student in public school that 1 computer can’t accommodate that number of student. Maybe those in upper/first section can use that computer but how about those in lower section they will eventually left behind and that’s against the inclusive approach to education. Most probably only the principal can use that computer if ever she doesn’t have a computer in her office. That master plan of DepEd are not helpful at all. Student doesn’t have a chance to manipulate computer and they can’t acquire basic computer skills. DepEd should take into consideration that the millennial students especially in rural areas should have a training or experience in using computer because they can’t cope up in the 21st century education. A knowledge in basic computer skills was needed by them. So that every student will enable to do what western country student can perform.

Essay 5 1. What do you say to educators who say technology in teaching takes time and is expensive? Educator who says technology in teaching takes time and is expensive are educators who are afraid to make innovations. They don’t have the guts to face the new trends in education and maybe they are old enough to learn computer skills that’s why they are keep on saying it takes time and expensive. They are educators who don’t want to leave in their comfort shell they stick on using the old instructional material. They are educators that are boring, why did I say so? It’s because they can’t cope up in the new trends. As an Educator you should be updated on the things happening in the society so that the learning process will be more enjoyable and in that way you can create a wholistic teaching-learning process.

Essay 7 1. Does the new framework on higher thinking skills and creativity means that teachers should no longer make efforts to help students / excel in achieving test? The new framework on higher thinking skills and creativity doesn’t mean that teachers shouldn’t do efforts to help students excel in achieving high score in test. It’s just that the new frame work are focus on student, student driven or student centered. Wherein the student are the one doing their job to learn or learning how to learn. It is not traditional way of teaching wherein student are spoon feeding. This new framework are also design to make the student competent and to be able to cope up with the new innovation in learning that was already practice in other ASEAN country for the student to not left behind. The fast and changing society also need a great teachers to facilitate the students whether they’re really acquiring knowledge and determined if the students are ready to face real world task. So saying teacher will still need to exert efforts to do the instruction and facilitation on their student. The aid of educational technology will play a vital role in achieving test. 2. Can those complex thinking skills be also achieved even without using educational technology tool? To be able to achieved those complex thinking skills student needs educational technology tool because this serve as their guide in their learning. Though students can also achieved complex thinking skills without the aid of educational technology tool because students’ critical thinking, creativity and reflective thinking are the needs. Students perform real word task and make projects with their own design. Teachers will only facilitate in making the project. Students will be in charged on making decision, organize information and know how to package outcomes for preparation. Essay 8 1. Should the creativity of students be approved in more simple projects? Creativity of the students should approved in doing simple projects as long as the rules of the task are followed and the goal is met. We shouldn’t judge the students creativity by his/her simple projects because s/he still plan, assemble, design and build ideas in doing that simple projects. Maybe s/he just limit his/her work in making it simple. Further students can still showcase their creativity by making that simple projects reliable and have a big impact to their lives. Teachers should appreciate every effort given by his students for them to motivate to work hard on their projects. In a group project teachers should give credit to those students who are cooperating in doing the project than those who did not helping. To do this fairly the teacher may asked the group to grade each belongs to the group aside from giving the grade as a whole to the group. Group project is one of best activity on developing students’ cooperation on how they work as a group. It lightens the work because more are working in one output. As belong in the group you should cooperate with your group to do the task faster. When the project was in the hand of the teacher, he/she can see if there is a collaboration of ideas by looking to do outputs made by his students and that is when the output is beautiful and attractive. 2. Should the aspects of expense and time be considered in creativity projects? Expense shouldn’t considered in creativity project to make the judgment fair. Its’ should be excluded in the criteria of rating a certain project since not all students are blessed with resources. This will promote justice and fairness among diverse learners. So what if his project was expensive if she doesn’t use her critical thinking in planning, assembling, deg and building ideas. Whereas the time should be considered because we all know that every project has its definite timetable or timeframe for it to be accomplished. This will help the students develop the virtue of being time conscious. Another problem in considering the time was what if she finished her project in a short period of time if she’s doesn’t made it by herself. If we assess a project we should assess it in its substance. Also in doing an evaluation you should have a standard criteria to be nonpartisan. 3. In group projects, other ride on the creativity talent of one or some member in the group. How can the teacher give proper credit to more talented / creative students in a cooperative projects? The teacher should give a group grade and also give individual grade to give a proper justification to the effort of more talented students. In giving cooperative projects, grades should not be given to the group only as a whole. There must be an individual grading system for the talented/creative students who deserve proper credit. If a teacher uses cooperative learning, he should always that there would be few in a group who depend only to those responsible . Hence, an individual grading system should be prepared.

Essay 9 Discuss the following issues, surf again in the internet. 1. Intellectual property rights Intellectual property rights are the rights given to persons over the creations of their minds. They usually give the creator an exclusive right over the use of his/her creation for a certain period of time. Intellectual property rights are customarily divided into two main areas: Copyright and rights related to copyright The rights of authors of literary and artistic works (such as books and other writings, musical compositions, paintings, sculpture, computer programs and films) are protected by copyright, for a minimum period of 50 years after the death of the author. Also protected through copyright and related (sometimes referred to as “neighboring”) rights are the rights of performers (e.g. actors, singers and musicians), producers of phonograms (sound recordings) and broadcasting organizations. The main social purpose of protection of copyright and related rights is to encourage and reward creative work. Industrial property Industrial property can usefully be divided into two main areas: 1. One area can be characterized as the protection of distinctive signs, in particular trademarks (which distinguish the goods or services of one undertaking from those of other undertakings) and geographical indications (which identify a good as originating in a place where a given characteristic of the good is essentially attributable to its geographical origin). The protection of such distinctive signs aims to stimulate and ensure fair competition and to protect consumers, by enabling them to make informed choices between various goods and services. The protection may last indefinitely, provided the sign in question continues to be distinctive. 2. Other types of industrial property are protected primarily to stimulate innovation, design and the creation of technology. In this category fall inventions (protected by patents), industrial designs and trade secrets. The social purpose is to provide protection for the results of investment in the development of new technology, thus giving the incentive and means to finance research and development activities. A functioning intellectual property regime should also facilitate the transfer of technology in the form of foreign direct investment, t ventures and licensing 2. Pornography using internet Internet pornography’s accessibility, affordability and anonymity have helped the porn industry reach a whole new level. People no longer have to drive to an adult store to get porn, for it is readily available at the click of a mouse. Porn has been normalized to the point where most men are not hiding their liking of porn, but embracing it. Some women have even become addicted to viewing porn on the web. As pornography is more common because of the Internet, it has taken a larger role in our lives. Some have been hurt by it, some have been able to entertain more fantasies because of it and some have even made a fortune from it. Internet porn is sexually explicit content made available online in various formats including images, video files, and video games and streaming video. The legitimacy of pornography is a controversial issue. In the corporate world, however, Internet porn is unquestionably problematic. According to M. J. McMahon, publisher of AVN magazine, a trade publication that tracks the adult video industry, porn sites receive more hits during business hours than at other times of the day. Nielsen reported that 25% of employees access porn during business hours.
Employees surfing porn wastes corporate resources and lowers productivity. Furthermore, the business may be legally responsible for illicit acts on the part of the employee, such as distributing child pornography or sending pornographic content – perhaps in an email message with a corporate signature -- to someone who doesn’t want to receive it. Because porn sites are known sources of viruses, spyware and adware, they also pose a security risk to s’ computers and the corporate network. Many organizations use Web monitoring software to track employees’ online activity. Such software usually monitors Web site visits, email, IM, chat and searches in internal applications. It may also include a key logger, to track what employees’ type. Email image monitoring programs can identify and block pornographic images. Monitoring software typically issues reports in the event of any breach of an organization’s acceptable use policy (AUP), identifying the employee and details of the activity. 3. Pyramiding scam using the internet A pyramid scheme is a scheme in which a hierarchy is created by people ing under others who ed previously, where those who , make payments to those above them in the hierarchy, with the expectation of being able to collect payments from those who below. All pyramid schemes rely on increasing numbers of unsuspecting investors to buy into the bottom of the chain in hopes of taking money out once they reach the top. Because e-mail is practically instantaneous, relatively anonymous and incredibly cheap, it is an almost ideal vehicle for this type of scam. Like other scams, a pyramid scam may promise rates of return that seem just too good to be true for little or no effort on your part, or it may initially be vague about what your initial investment will go toward. What happens in a pyramid scheme is that existing investors are paid a return based on the promoters’ ability to raise new funds; once the fund raising stops, later investors cannot be repaid and the pyramid collapses. These schemes always cheat most of the participants. Most people who participate in these pyramid schemes lose, because sooner or later, no new participants can be recruited to keep the scheme going. 4. Gaming or lottery in the internet The Internet has made way for new types of gambling to form online. Improvements in technology have changed betting habits just as video lottery terminals, keno and scratch cards changed the gambling industry in the early 20th century. It allow some limited forms of gambling and an order to provide a controlled outlet for people who's willing to gamble and it also provides a method of socially desirable purposes. Examples of gaming are the following: Poker Online poker tables commonly offer Texas hold 'em, Omaha, Seven-card stud, razz, HORSE and other game types in both tournament and Cash game structures. Players play against each other rather than the "house", with the card room making its money through "rake" and through tournament fees. Casinos There are a large number of online casinos in which people can play casino games such as roulette, blackjack, pachinko, baccarat and many others. These games are played against the "house" which makes money because the odds are in its favor. Sports betting Sports betting is the activity of predicting sports results and placing a wager on the outcome. Usually the wager is in the form of money. Bingo Online bingo is the game of bingo played on the Internet. Lotteries Most lotteries are run by governments and are heavily protected from competition due to their ability to generate large taxable cash flows. The first online lotteries were run by private individuals or companies and licensed to operate by small countries. Most private online lotteries have stopped trading as governments have ed new laws giving themselves and their own lotteries greater protection. Government-controlled lotteries now offer their games online.

Essay 10-A 1. Do you believe CAI in some future time can replace teacher in the classroom? Computer Assisted Instruction can’t replace Teacher never ever. Who will facilitate the learning if theirs no teacher available. Teachers are the one who made software for the students. They are the one knows the needed information of the learner. They are the one who data to the internet. So its impossible to replace the teachers role in education. Even the great teachnology can’t replace the teacher. The teacher role in CAI is deliverer of information and learning environment controller. Whereas the computer can’t do because it doesn’t have feelings it cant ensure if the students have equipped with needed knowledge, can’t decide on a learning objectives, plan the sequential structured activities to achieve objectives and evaluate the students achievement by way of test. The perfect partner is , great teachers plus great technology is transformational. 2. What problem can be encountered if a school (such as poor countries) cant afford to provide enough computers to students? Will CAI work at all with a whole school using a single computer? Insufficient number of computer at school can’t the Computer Assisted Instructions. If the school has only one computer those student who are in special science class can used that computer. Not all the student can make use of it. Also it was against inclusive education if theres are student who will left behind. Even to that single computer, the CAI can’t work the it will become useless and in that case other teacher will prefer to use the traditional way of teaching and make use of traditional instructional materials in discussion.

Essay 10-B 1. Many software materials availbale in developed countries are not yet available in developing countries. Do you think awareness of the existence of these materials can still help teacher in developing countries? Probably yes, since teachers now are attending seminars they can adopt the way of teaching using the software materials in developed country. Although they can’t imitate all in all the eduactional process at least they are integrating little by little the way of teaching. They are aware of those software materials because there are professor in developing country whose field is in computer / software. They can produce software materials and get the concept of the software and make use of it as their guide in creating a software materials. 2. Students play games at home and nearby school computer cafes. How do these games differ from instructional computer games? Students do play computer games during their free time for entertainment, top online games they play are League of Legends, DOTA 2, counter strike, clash of clans, soldier simulations such as point black, special force and crossfire. Those games have still little impact in their lives. I asked a guy who always went to computer shops what are the games they usually play and what’s the benefit in playing computer games, “It gives way in socializing because you can meet different people, builds teamwork and enhance strategic thinking” said he. “we play because it is stress reliver” he added. So indeed it still helpful if they used it in a proper way witah limitations. Instructional computer games helps them develop their critical thinking, reflective thinking, inferential thinking, creative thinking and strategic thinking. It is far more useful because it entertains you at the same time you are learning. 3. Discuss the following 3.1.Difficulties of using software Some difficulties in using software was lack of experience in using computer. Also there are other software that is critically to use. Problems in software are the following Blue Screen of Death Many people think of blue as a calming color; however, when it comes up on your computer screen with a bunch of white text, it probably has the opposite effect. The blue screen of death (STOP Error) may appear to be one of the scariest computer problems you'll come across. However, all your computer may need is for you to reboot it. This STOP error appears on your screen for a variety of reasons: failing hardware, damaged software, corrupt DLL files, problems with drivers and more. The remedy for a blue screen of death depends on the original problem. The screen provides you with codes that can help you identify and fix your computer problems. Missing DLL File Dynamic-Link Library (DLL) files house information for your operating system on how to perform certain functions. Occasionally, your computer loses DLL files or something damages them. When your PC can't read the particular DLL file, it doesn't know how to respond in certain situations. You may have a missing or corrupt DLL file if you receive an error message every time you perform a certain function, such as saving. If your computer problems are stemming from missing and damaged DLL files, you can restore them by ing them back onto your PC. Applications That Won't Install If you're having trouble with an application not installing, it may be because your computer doesn't have enough hard drive space. If this is the case, you need to free up some space. This is one of the computer problems that's, well, least problematic. You can free up some hard drive
space by getting rid of files and folders you don't need. These may be temporary files, duplicate files or data for software you've uninstalled. Applications Run Slowly There are several reasons software might be running at turtle speed. You may have computer problems that involve your operating system or an application, your operating system might be misdates or your computer doesn't have enough hard drive space. If you don't have enough hard drive space, you can scan, clean and optimize your hard drive. Abnormal Applications Behavior Computer problems that involve applications acting strangely oftentimes leave you wondering what has happened. Your application has been working just fine, but now, seemingly without reason, it is doing something strange. 3.2.Number of school computer available Computers in the classroom include any digital technology used to enhance, supplement, or replace a traditional educational curriculum. As computers have become more accessible, inexpensive, and powerful, the demand for this technology has increased, leading to more frequent use of computer resources within classes, and a decrease in the student-to-computer ratio within schools. Nowadays every school has to have computers. 3.3.Available software materials In the Philippines there is a collection of online teaching and learning materials are provided for in the Learning Resources Management and Development System (LRMDS) — an online library developed by local and international education partners and even created by teachers themselves. These learning materials made available online are free, and tied in to the curriculum to ensure relevance and appropriateness. It is a useful supplement to our continuing efforts to provide our teachers and students with the necessary learning resources. Further, the whole system also intends to harvest materials developed by our own teachers with the intent of recognizing quality material and share it with fellow teachers and educators under an open sharing platform. 3.4. Ways to integrate them into lesson/ curriculum Technology is ubiquitous, touching almost every part of our lives, our communities, our homes. Yet most schools lag far behind when it comes to integrating technology into classroom learning. Many are just beginning to explore the true potential tech offers for teaching and learning. Properly used, technology will help students acquire the skills they need to survive in a complex, highly technological knowledge-based economy. Integrating technology into classroom instruction means more than teaching basic computer skills and software programs in a separate computer class. Effective tech integration must happen across the curriculum in ways that research shows deepen and enhance the learning process. In particular, it must four key components of learning: active engagement, participation in groups, frequent interaction and , and connection to real-world experts. Effective technology integration is achieved when the use of technology is routine and transparent and when technology s curricular goals. Many people believe that technology-enabled project learning is the one plus ultra of classroom instruction. Learning through projects while equipped with technology tools allows students to be intellectually challenged while providing them with a realistic snapshot of what the modern office looks like. Through projects, students acquire and refine their analysis and problem-solving skills as they work individually and in teams to find, process, and synthesize information they've found online. 4.How futuristic are computer as tutor in our Philippine Educational Scenario.
Computer could be the tutor of the learners it will help teacher minimized their work. Also it offer a great advantage to the learner wherein they can study even they are at home. They can research on the lesson they want to learn and topic they want to be clear off. We can probably say that the computer nowadays and to the future plays a vital role in Philippine Educational Scenario. Moreover, it offers a lot of services that make things done in a short period of time. Michelle T. Sison

Essay 11 Teachers are told not to use the computer as a situating tool if a pre-school child, for example can actually play-and-build using actual logo blocks. Can you name other situation in which actual, physical and hands-on activities can be more productive than computer activities. Playing basketball in real world is much more productive than playing basketball game in computer. Since it is part of a PE subject you can exercise your body and made you more strong. Drawing was also productive than making graphics in computer in here you can see the real talent of the student when it comes to drawing. Making project example making miniature of a house this is for student taking up architecture this is more productive because you can see the output made by the student not just a computerized blueprintof the house. Another activity was making a real object project wherein student can used their creativity, reflective thinking and inferential thinking.

ACTIVITY 9 Discuss the following . Surf in the internet
1. E-mail (electronic mail or email) E-mail (electronic mail) is the exchange of computer-stored messages by telecommunication. (Some publications spell it email; we prefer the currently more established spelling of e-mail.) E-mail messages are usually encoded in ASCII text. However, you can also send non-text files, such as graphic images and sound files, as attachments sent in binary streams. E-mail was one of the first uses of the Internet and is still the most popular use. A large percentage of the total traffic over the Internet is e-mail. E-mail can also be exchanged between online service provider s and in networks other than the Internet, both public and private. E-mail can be distributed to lists of people as well as to individuals. A shared distribution list can be managed by using an e-mail reflector. Some mailing lists allow you to subscribe by sending a request to the mailing list . A mailing list that is istered automatically is called a list server 2. E-finance E-finance-including investing, banking, mortgage lending, and insurance-will grow at a dazzling rate in the coming years. It's a reflection of the spectacular growth of the Internet. In just five years, the World Wide Web has gone from being terra incognita to becoming a ubiquitous medium for transacting business, sharing information, and communicating with people all over the world. E-finance will empower both consumers and businesses, enabling them to reduce transaction costs, speedily process documents online, and have instantaneous access to information. For businesses, online finance can dramatically improve efficiency and decrease the costs of internal business functions such as expense reporting, contract labor management, and time-and-billing procedures. Plus, by providing personalized information about consumers, the Internet lets companies engage in "one-to-one marketing," allowing them to tailor the online experience to fit unique individual needs. Moreover, Congress has just ed an electronic signature and record-keeping bill that will make it easier for both companies and consumers to do business online. The bill will give new technologies such as electronically transmitted fingerprint scans and encryption keys the legal weight of ink-on-paper signatures. Companies can now shop for loans on the Web, lease a building, or purchase health insurance for their employees. Procedures that used to take weeks-and that required seemingly endless phone calls, paperwork, and manpower-can now be handled in days or hours, electronically. In world financial markets, traders and money managers have access to cuttingedge data about the markets 24 hours a day, all over the world. For consumers, the Internet is becoming part of daily life. About 44.4 million American households will be online by the end of this year, up from 12.7 million in 1995, according to IDC. That represents an increase of nearly 250 percent in five years. According to industry experts, traffic on the Internet doubles every 100 days
3. Entertainment Entertainment is an activity designed to give pleasure or relaxation to an audience. So when it comes to the definition of Internet Entertainment, it is actually the entertainment from internet. Nowadays, internet has been the main source of entertainment since those entertainments can easily be ed via internet. can be defined as to receive data from a remote or central system, such as a web server, FTP server, mail server, or other similar systems. People nowadays are often spend their leisure time with internet, ing (or ing) entertainment such as games, movies, music, and other sort of entertainment that fit to their satisfaction. Just a few types on the keyboard give them whatever the Internet is capable of. For instance, one main area of leisure on the Internet is multiplayer gaming. This form of leisure creates communities, bringing people of all ages and origins to enjoy the fast-paced world of multiplayer games. This has revolutionized the way many people interact and spend their free time on the Internet. Besides, many use the Internet to access and music, movies and other works for their enjoyment and relaxation (as discuss above). As a matter of fact, the World Wide Web, which is part of the internet (or sometimes rather to be called WWW) is often used as a gateway to access information such as news, weather and sport report, to plan and book holidays and to find out more about their random ideas and casual interests. Another example that is best to describe internet entertainment is the range of connection that it could bring to the worldwide. People use chat, messaging and email to make and stay in touch with friends worldwide, sometimes in the same way as some previously had pen pals. Social networking Web sites like ‘Myspace’ and ‘Facebook’. Many others like them also put and keep people in for their enjoyment. 4. Advertising Online advertising is a type of mass communication which is based on traditional form of advertising but develops its own communication strategies in correlation with the new technical and medium based requirements. Broadly, online advertising is about delivering ments to Internet/online s via Web sites, e-mail, ad-ed software and Internet-enabled smart phones. The biggest advantage over traditional ment is it is not limited by geography or time. Development communication has been labeled the "Fifth Theory of the Press," with "social transformation and development," and "the fulfillment of basic needs" as its primary purposes. Jamias articulated the philosophy of development communication which is anchored on three main ideas, namely: purposive, value-laden and pragmatic. Nora C. Quebral expanded
the definition, calling it "the art and science of human communication applied to the speedy transformation of a country and the mass of its people from poverty to a dynamic state of economic growth that makes possible greater social equality and the larger fulfilment of the human potential." Melcote and Steeves saw it as "emancipation communication", aimed at combating injustice and oppression.

ACTIVITY 10 Using drill and practice software students shall undergo the experience of CAI. Students must share and discuss their experiences
Computer-assisted instruction" (CAI) refers to instruction or remediation presented on a computer. Many educational computer programs are available online and from computer stores and textbook companies. They enhance teacher instruction in several ways. Computer programs are interactive and can illustrate a concept through attractive animation, sound, and demonstration. They allow students to progress at their own pace and work individually or problem solve in a group. Computers provide immediate , letting students know whether their answer is correct. If the answer is not correct, the program shows students how to correctly answer the question. Computers offer a different type of activity and a change of pace from teacher-led or group instruction. Computer-assisted instruction improves instruction for students with disabilities because students receive immediate and do not continue to practice the wrong skills. Computers capture the students' attention because the programs are interactive and engage the students' spirit of competitiveness to increase their scores. Also, computer-assisted instruction moves at the students' pace and usually does not move ahead until they have mastered the skill. Programs provide differentiated lessons to challenge students who are at risk, average, or gifted.

Allow learners to examine models or mock-ups which may not be easy in the real object. Functional model/mock-ups allow learners to handle and operate. After presentation, model can be left on display for a period of times and allows learners display for a period of times and allows learners to independently study the item at their own convenience. Can provide learning experiences that real objects cannot provide. Working models can illustrate basic operations of a real device and provide important details.
