EMC Open Migrator/LM for Windows v3.12 Procedure Prerequisites for ALL Windows Stand Alone Host -
Ensure for every target volume you have a source volume of same or greater size Appropriately zone and mask target volume to OM host Create map of the source volumes as it relates to the target volumes Only one drive letter per drive can be migrated
Prerequisites for Windows MSCS Hosts -
Move or failover all cluster volumes on only one node in the Windows cluster Shutdown ive node in Windows cluster Create a map of the source volumes as it relates to the target volume. Only one drive letter per drive can be migrated. Do NOT copy MSCS quorum drive. Provide new quorum drive to MSCS on new target disk array.
Steps 1.) Format the target volumes and assign temporary drive letters. 2.) Install EMC Open Migrator/LM for Windows v3.12 software using the defaults. 3.) Reboot node 4.) Start EMC Open Migrator/LM for Windows GUI. 5.) On the left pane right click Open Migrator and select “Attach to server…” 6.) Input the hostname or IP address of the OM machine. 7.) Right click the node on the left pane and select “Rescan disks and volumes” to ensure everything is up to date. 8.) Right click the node on the left pane and select “Max migrations…” By default it is 5, increase it to the maximum of 10.
9.) Right click the node on the left pane and select “Max migration rate…” By default it is set to “-1” which is the maximum. Adjust accordingly. 10.) Right click “Volumes” on left pane and select “Attach multiple volumes” 11.) The dialog box will give you allow you to choose the source/target volumes to attach/install filter driver. All source/target volumes must have a filter driver attached/installed. Shift-Click or Cntl-Click is allowed. 12.)
Close OM GUI and save console settings.
13.) If prompted to reboot, reboot node after filter driver attached/installed. Sometimes reboot not required when filter driver is attached. 14.)
Start EMC Open Migrator/LM GUI

Expand host on left pane and double click on volumes.

Select source volume on right pane and select “Migrate volume…”
17.) Eligible target volumes will appear in a “Target Volume Dialog” box. Select the appropriate target volume and select “Migration with ” in a radio selection box below the selected target volume. Click “Ok” 18.)
Repeat for remaining source volumes.
19.) When all source/target volumes have a “Migration State” of “In sync, verified”, reboot host. The drive letters will switch to the appropriate target volume and leave the source volume unmounted. 20.) When migration completed…using Open Migrator GUI right click all source/target volumes and detach filter driver. 21.) Do one final reboot after filter driver is detached for source/target devices. 22.) Uninstall Open Migrator/LM software under “Add/Remove Programs” in the “Control ”.
23.) Recover MSCS and test failover as needed, start/stop applications/DBs for testing.
