Check your selfie. Go on. While you’re posing in that mirror – that you just couldn’t bear to walk past because it was so selfie-perfect – check your selfie. As in, actually have a proper feel when you’re covering your modesty for that tasteful semi-nude photo which is destined for lord knows where... You know where I’m going with this – if you’re copping a feel you might as well check yourself(ie) out for any lumps and bumps. Cancer affects all of us in some way or another through life, and it doesn’t discriminate. I’ve lost – and very nearly lost – several loved ones to the disease in recent years, which is partly why this special issue of Gay Times will benefit the charity Balls To Cancer. You can read more about them on page eight – and yes you have to read that before you get to look at all the pictures. Speaking of those pictures, please do fumble a little further and donate via the text codes inside. And I know I say it every year, but this really is our biggest naked issue ever. More pages than ever before and more pictures than ever before. We thought we’d roll with the ‘what words’ joke that we see trotted out so often, and keep those pesky distractions for online reading throughout January at gaytimes.co.uk. We’re just so GIVING. Balls To Cancer Balls To Cancer is a ed charity set up to help raise awareness and educate on all male cancers. Our online campaign #FumbleFriday reminds and advises men on how and what to check themselves for on the most common male cancers. Early detection vastly improves survival rates, so we hope to take away the taboo many feel when discussing their testicles. We have recently set up #MakingMemories where we send cancer hit families on a luxury caravan holiday (free of charge) to allow them a well deserved break. The response to this has been so fantastic we will hopefully extend this across the country. As part of this idea we have also funded some terminal patients with a wish list, one was simply a meal out with his sister

just weeks before he sadly died. The charity also wanted to try and improve the treatment for children going through cancer and came up with #SuperHeroChemo – these are boxes designed in a hero theme that cover the IV bags, containing the chemo, giving the child the thought their treatment is super powers. It’s a tough time for all involved so anything that can relieve this has to be positive. Balls To Cancer is about making a difference and to do this we need your help. Louis! Welcome back to GT. How was Tumble? It was really, really good fun! I didn’t want to be too critical with the contestants, because they’d been grafting their backside off for eight weeks, and if you go out and get absolutely slammed, you’re gonna feel like you wasted your time. I wouldn’t want them to feel like shit. We can all sing, we can all dance. We might be bad, but we can do it. Gymnastics not many people can do. Are you sad it’s been axed? A little bit sad – just because I had such good fun on the show, being in the judge’s seat as opposed to being the contestant. I met some really great people and had a lot of fun. But it is what it is, it’s entertainment. It’s a very hard and dangerous sport, it’s tough to fit that into a few weeks. Why do you think you’ve gained such a gay following? I think when I ask people, “Why do a lot of people think I’m gay?” they say, “Oh, you look like you take care of yourself, look after your hair, your beard’s all nice, you don’t talk like an Essex lad [changes to Essex accent] goin’ on about BANGIN’ GIRLS.” Do guys come on to you? I’ve never been hit on by a guy. There was one time where – it was actually more funny than it was awkward – a guy came up and started speaking to me and was VERY forward. Anything I said, he’d turn into a sexual innuendo. You think, like, “Gay guys can get away with so much!” If I were to say that to a girl, she’d slap me. Have you been sent any dick pics? Luckily no. But unfortunately, I’ve never had any tit pics, either… I’m pretty laid back. Like, if a guy went to go kiss me, that would be past my limit, but apart from that I’m easy. What’s it like being fancied by so many people? It’s flattering. No one goes into gymnastics to become famous and the whole reason why I’ve got recognition all stems from gymnastics. She’s got Google Alerts on lockdown! “I see Louis in the paper for doing this or that!” She knows what I’ve done before I do! Is gymnastics gay friendly? I think it has all the makings to be. Especially in of coming out and being comfortable with it. There are some sports out there where it’s probably much harder, like team-based sports. That’s harder for people to be more open about their sexuality. Should football get its act together? When I watch the Premiership, it doesn’t feel like watching a sport. You’ve got athletes, you’ve got sportsmen and then you’ve got footballers. Look at the type of people who go and watch football. At gymnastics, people bring their families, they sit down and cheer and enjoy what they’re seeing. Football fans enjoy watching their team like yobbos. Is speaking about these issues important to you? I’m a very outspoken person. I don’t like seeing people getting bullied, especially being someone who is mixed-race. If I’ve got a voice, it’s like a responsibility to say something. Everyone like me has experienced racism, it happens, whether it’s in of deprived opportunities or something else. Are there enough gay characters in the arts? Ian: In the majority of TV shows and films there aren’t many gay characters. But that’s starting to change because it’s becoming more acceptable. People know the importance of having gay characters so young people have someone to look and connect to. Javier: The majority of musicals I’ve done were written long ago, when being gay wasn’t an open thing, so they didn’t write gay characters. Now new writers and composers are coming up with stories about gays, lesbians

Who’s the best looking guy in TOWIE, Charlie? Well, I’m not going to say myself, so I’d probably say that all round, Mario Falcone is the best looking guy. He has that dark-haired Italian look, he’s quite tall, he’s in good shape, he’s not too big or too small and he’s got the tattoos. A lot of people like that. If you had to snog any bloke from TOWIE, who would it be? Well, I’ve already snogged Mario – and I’ve got the pictures to prove it. It was on New Year’s Eve, but it wasn’t with tongues. I’d snog him again if I had to because I know him; I wouldn’t kiss any of the others. How much competition is there between the TOWIE boys to look good? The guys are very much about getting into shape and working on their bodies. But we can’t all be built like Greek gods and walk around saying, “Look at my six pack,” because some of us actually like to go out there and live. I had a Chinese takeaway last night because I enjoy eating and I’m ionate about my food. Are you a manscaper? Yeah, I’m pretty manscaped up. I’m not really a hairy person – I haven’t got that much of a hairy chest and even my beard is patchy. I’m always trimmed though, especially my armpits, chest and downstairs. How much longer do you plan to stay on the show? I don’t know how long it’ll go on for, but one day I’d like to see us all getting married and bringing our kids on, so it’s like one giant documentary type thing. This shoot is in aid of Balls To Cancer – do you check yourself often? Yeah, of course I do, I’m always playing with my balls! What’s Ex on the Beach about? Well, MTV fucked us over. They told us there’d be four single lads and four single girls going to find love abroad. We’d meet loads of girls and get drunk. But day by day, they brought our ex-girlfriends in without telling us and we didn’t have a clue. But it was still the best experience of my life and I have no regrets whatsoever. Has it given you more attention from men? Yeah. If someone tries it on I’m like, “No, I’m not gay,” but I’ll still have a laugh with them. George, you’re probably the hairiest guy we’ve shot this year… Am I? I’m aware of the fact I’m a hairy wee guy. Some of the time I don’t like it and sometimes I go, “That’s just the way I am, it’s cool.” I keep on top of it, but I thought if I saw you bald as a coot then, that’s not who I am. I buy GT and Dan Neal last year jumped out at me from the pages because he was so hairy and sexy. I find oiledup and clean-cut attractive too, but if I’m getting my kit off and I’m not being myself then it’s pointless. Are you body confident? Not massively, that’s why I did it. Being surrounded by ripped, younger guys doesn’t mean I want to look like that. I get my back and my arms waxed periodically through the year because that makes me self-conscious. Especially if you’re getting down with someone – you don’t want to feel like a gorilla. Have you always been an out actor? It’s not a secret – my family and everyone I work with knows I’m gay, but when I was graduating seven years ago it was something that we weren’t encouraged to talk about. It was very much walk into an audition and be neutral. But times have changed and there are so many actors very open about their sexuality and they use it for good. What type of men are attracted to you? I can hold my own, and I like to make new friends and chat, so I often find people quieter than me seek me out, whereas I’m looking for a challenge. I want to meet my match and it doesn’t happen very often. Tell us one thing about yourself that would surprise us. I’m a huge Masters of the Universe fan. It was why I wanted to become an actor. My mum made me costumes and three times a week I’d act out every character. Skeletor was my favourite. I’ve always wanted to play a bad guy... n

How did we talk you out of your clothes? Because it was all for a good cause! Two years ago, three people who were very close to me all died in the space of two months from cancer. They included my nan, who died of breast cancer, so I have the Breast Cancer Care symbol tattooed on my arm. Helping with this shoot was something that was really important for me. Being a model, you must be quite body confident. I’m not and never have been. I used to be big, then I had an eating disorder when I was younger and went too thin, but I never saw that in myself. At 22, I had a quad bike accident and got a hairline fracture of my spine. The pain stopped me from exercising so I put on two and a half stone. It’s only now I’m getting back to the gym and pushing it. I just want to be toned and have abs and pecs… I don’t want to be a skinny boy any more. How did you deal with your eating disorder? When I started modelling I knew I was wary of food. I then addressed it with the help of doctors and it was only when I took some time out to think about it that I understood I needed to put on weight. How did we talk you into this? Well, if it wasn’t for charity I might not have done it. I’ve done some coffee mornings for Macmillan Cancer this week too so I thought I might as well put my 15 minutes of fame to good use and appear in GT. And all my mates said I should do this naked shoot. You finished filming in April, did you have any idea then that when you flung your Baked Alaska into the bin it would cause such a furore? We all knew on the show it was going to be a big part of the episode because no one has ever thrown their baking into the bin before. But I didn’t realise just how big it was going to be. I was shocked by the reaction on Twitter because I didn’t know how ionate people were about it. Have you spoken to Diana since? Yes, I chatted to her before and after the show and I thought it was very unfair the way she was treated. She took it out of the fridge in the heat of the moment and there was no malice about it. The hate campaign against her wasn’t pleasant. Have you got many gay fans? I have a big gay following on Twitter and a lot of guys make comments that are complimentary. I didn’t realise the gay community was so into baking! However, I have quite a few gay friends but they don’t really bake. It’s me who’s always making cakes for birthdays. and I get a hump where I store my water for long desert journeys. What does being Mr Gay World involve? They were looking for an ambassador who can be the voice of the LGBT community globally. Seventy per cent of the competition was your knowledge of equality laws and which countries you understood your gay rights in; there were written tests, media interviews, you were asked for your views on Russia and how you’d tackle issues in Africa. The other 30 per cent was swimwear and suits. It was really intense – you can’t just show up and rely on your looks. Some of them looked like Adonises dropped by the Greek gods, but it takes brains too. You can’t just stand there in your pants under a waterfall and expect to win. What have you learned since winning the title that’s surprised you? When you chat to some of the lads from different countries, you realise how good we have it in the UK. I know we grumble and complain that we’re not there yet, but we’re getting there. We’re really far forward. Chatting to some of the guys in India, you realise they’re not doing too good over there. Some of the North African delegates for Mr Gay World got to the airport and then weren’t allowed out of their country. Africa didn’t want to associate itself with this competition, so they were barred from leaving and had their visas taken away from them. So events like this need to go ahead, and be seen and talked about. ■ @hattondancer

Tell us about The Curing Room. It’s about seven Russian soldiers who are captured at the end of World War 2 by the Nazis. Their commander is beaten, they’re stripped of everything including their clothes, and seven are left alive and are thrown in the cellar of a monastery with the doors locked and they’re left to die. The world premiere was in Edinburgh in the summer for a month, followed by a run in London. So you spend the entire time on stage without clothes? Yes. It was the first thing my agent told me, that it was a really good piece but it’s fully nude from start to finish. My first reaction was no, because it was going to be at the Edinburgh Fringe, it sounded like a gimmick and someone just wanted the cast naked to sell tickets. And I didn’t want to get naked for the sake of it. But then as soon as I read the script I said, “OK, I’m willing to do this.” The story wouldn’t work without nudity. How has the audience reacted? The first five minutes, ittedly, they’re all staring at our dicks before they become engrossed in the piece. There’s a lot of camaraderie in the cast – you can’t get much closer than seven guys working day in day out fully nude. On the stage it’s our space and, if anything, it’s the audience who are the strange ones

as they’ve come in clothed! What have your friends said? I’m fortunate because one of my best mates is in the cast with me. That was a strange experience in the audition stage; when we got to the final round together I calling him and saying, “Mate, what have we done?” We’ve trained together and been through a lot of stuff but this was another level! Now I can’t be more thankful to have him in the show with me. Have any audience got their camera phones out? No, not yet! The theatre’s strict about that, if anyone is seen with one, it’ll be taken off them, the pictures deleted and they’ll be kicked out. There are some people who are there to see just nudity, but hopefully by the end of the show we’ve changed their minds. Are you ever mistaken for being gay? I do get hit on a lot by gay guys, which obviously is complimentary, but sadly it’s not my cup of tea. The Curing Room has given me a bit of a gay following and I’ve had a few nights out at the gay clubs in Soho, so I have been hit on. But I’ve never turned down a free drink. Maybe I just give off a gay vibe. ■

Where on earth do you find your outrageous swimsuits? I saw the schlong thong in China and thought, “Nobody has got this in the UK,” and I like to be different and stand out. Positioning little Bobby was key to making sure he didn’t pop out. But I didn’t expect it to get so much attention. Perez Hilton covered it, David Walliams tweeted about it and even the late Joan Rivers commented on it on her E! show Fashion Police. That’s been my biggest achievement in life and I’m glad she got to see it before she ed away. How do you ignore the haters? Being a gay man stands me in good stead. Being gay, you always put yourself up for being judged in life anyway, because often we’re the minority. I was the only gay in my school so I’m used to being that bit different. I’m 28, so it’s not always been as easy compared to gay teenagers nowadays. I’ve had stick and people haven’t always been the most accepting of my sexuality, so it’s helped me develop such a thick skin over the years. You and TOWIE’s Harry Derbidge were in a relationship when you found out he’d cheated on you with his ex. What’s the score between you two now? I’ve taken time to reflect on it and to see how things developed on a friendship level between us. He tried to make things up to me, but it’s one of those situations whereby once the trust has gone, I can’t get it back. It’s time up for us and I don’t think we were meant to be together. If you could turn one of the TOWIE guys, who would it be? I think I’d have a little go on Dan Osbourne. Actually, no, I want to turn James Lock because he’s tall, dark and handsome and has the muscles and the butch voice. I did a scene in the show where I took him to have his back, sack and crack waxed and that’s my most favourite moment I’ve ever filmed in TOWIE history. n @bobbycnorris

Where might people know you from? Joe Cooper: We’re presenters who started off on YouTube, and then our fanbase grew and we started doing live gigs. Have you developed a gay fanbase yet? Joe Ashman: Yes, particularly over the last few months, our new followers have been gay. We presented at Reading Pride recently and were on and off stage for three hours, which gave us a lot of time to meet people. Now our gay fans keep popping up on Twitter to say hello. Do they ever mistake you for a couple? Joe A: Yes, they do, but what we have is a bromance. They get to know us and realise we’re just best friends. GT has got you naked! Do you have many gay friends? I do. I grew up in West Hollywood, which has a huge gay community, but it’s the best area to live in. I’m comfortable in any situation with anyone and I’m so flattered GT asked me to do this shoot. And I get a lot of from gay dudes on Twitter. The daunting part was getting my kit off! But hopefully it’ll raise more awareness for Balls To Cancer. Is there a woman in your life? No, I’m a single guy, and I’m at a point where I would love to find a Mrs – I just need to find the right one. Or maybe it’s time to go gay. This shoot could change my life! Everything about you has changed… I started to turn my life around four or five years ago. I was 24-yearsold when my dad died [legendary footballer George Best] and I spent the next four years snorting, drinking, and partying my way through life in a serious downward spiral of depression. I didn’t know how to deal with losing my dad, I had a real ‘fuck the world’ syndrome. My mom was in the US, I had no brothers and sisters so I had no family around me, and I was in the UK by myself. I had a bit of money, I didn’t know how to handle it so I partied to avoid facing the fact that if I stayed home by myself, I’d have fucking topped myself. I’d walk down the street and couldn’t look at people in case they thought, “That’s Calum, what a cunt.” Do you still get much negativity? Oh yeah, every now and again I’ll get a message on Twitter saying, “You cunt, you spunked your dad’s millions,” but I didn’t get a penny off my old man. He went bankrupt three times. How has your dad’s name helped you? It helped to open the door but you’ve got to fucking keep the door open yourself. Nothing comes to me for free. Did you notice more gay fans after you did GT in 2012? Yeah, for sure. I got quite a bit of from the gay community. It might’ve been because boxing is known as a tough sport and you don’t often see boxers willing to take their clothes off for a gay magazine, so maybe they appreciated that. Can you understand why some gay sportsmen stay in the closet? Yeah, I can see it’s very hard for people in that situation depending on what their friends and family are like. They could easily be scared of what other people think and that puts a lot of pressure on them. But nowadays, people don’t really bat an eyelid over sexuality. Why should anyone be bothered what another person does behind closed doors? If you show me respect and manners, you’ll receive them back in return, regardless of your sexuality. How did winning gold at the 2012 Olympics change your life? Millions of people watched it, so all of a sudden my name was well known. And I felt so proud for winning a medal in my home country. Now I’ve gone into the professional rankings. Having a CV saying I’m the most successful amateur boxer in history from Great Britain in the Olympics has created a big buzz for me being a professional. And you topped all that off with an MBE… For the Queen to present me with an MBE was just amazing. It was an honour for me, the country, my family and for those people who have been with me on my journey for the last 13 years. My MBE and gold medal are at home, and I wear them at events as people like to see them. Welcome back Arron! Thank you GT. This took no persuading because at home, I walk around naked all the time and I spend more time at the gym now, so I feel comfortable not wearing anything. Did you get much gay attention after your last naked shoot? Oh yeah, and I still do now. I love it though. I’m so comfortable with my sexuality that if I see a good looking guy and he’s giving me the eye, I’ll give him the eye back. Which part of your body gets the most attention? It used to be my abs, but I recently moved to Brighton and people seem to like my arms. Guys like to come over and pretend they’re touching my tattoo, but they’re really groping my arms. My girlfriend is really laid back with me getting gay attention, and if I get a compliment from a guy or a girl, to me it’s all the same and makes me smile for the rest of the day. How have you been affected by cancer? My niece had leukaemia when she was two and it came back two years later. But luckily she’s in remission now. And my dad had a thyroid related cancer, so I wanted to your Balls To Cancer shoot. The tattoo on my arm reads “We forge our own paths. Nothing in this world is impossible when heart and mind are put towards it.” It’s a quote from my favourite TV show Spartacus. I was obsessed with its star, Andy Whitfield, as an actor, and then he died of cancer and honest to God, I was depressed for a week. What are your modelling plans? I’m back in my training camp with Alex Backhouse for a few months and we’re getting some good progress and I’m working with an osteopath on my back. They’re helping me prep for shoots and now’s the time to get back into modelling. I’m in better shape than I’ve ever been in before and now’s the time to give it another shot! n alexblackhouse.com

How was your debut naked GT appearance, Ricci? I enjoyed it a lot, but I wish I was in better shape. I always train and eat well, and before I went into the Celebrity Big Brother house I was shredded. Now I’ve left, I’ve been out almost every night since and it’s been a whirlwind, so I haven’t had the chance to train. How would we persuade you to show little Ricci in a photo? Sorry lads but I wouldn’t. In the future I’d like to get married and have kids, and I don’t want my wife knowing that everyone else has seen me completely naked. In both CBB and Geordie Shore I was conscious of not showing it on camera – I even wore swimming shorts in the CBB shower. Why did you leave Geordie Shore? I didn’t get a choice. Vicky split up with me and the next day I got a phone call from my agent saying MTV wasn’t allowing me back. I was upset as it was a double whammy of both things, but everything happens for a reason. It’s definitely made me stronger. Do you have many gay fans? I get a lot of gay followers on Twitter but no one ever hits on me. I grew up working at a hairdressers, so I was used to being around gay people – and one of my best friends is a gay lad. We’ve seen your videos Sam, so you’re no stranger to nudity… I get my clothes off quite often online, it’s kind of my thing. I’m quite provocative on Instagram. My music is quite provocative too, but I’d never do full frontal nudity. My arse has been out a few times but full frontal isn’t what I’m about. I’ve had requests from fans but I like the teasing aspect of it. How would you describe your solo music? I write whatever inspires me at that moment, and it’s a hip-hop, electro beats and rap fusion… I used to put pressure on myself to become a mainstream artist. Now I think, if it happens then great, but I want to strive to entertain the niche market that’s appropriate for me and that will enjoy my vibe. You last song title was quite, ahem, interesting – calling it C.U.N.T… I’m dabbling with a clean version, but there’s a big part of me that doesn’t want to! That’s the point of it. What are you like as a boyfriend? I’ve completely changed. In my first serious relationship I was head over heels in love in a longdistance relationship, and I was like an obsessed, crazy woman. I’d be crying daily on Skype. My last one I was really relaxed and chilled to the point where I wasn’t really involved. What do you look for in a man? How was your naked debut, Freddie? Actually quite enjoyable. It’s the first time for me, so I was quite interested to do it. I wasn’t really nervous or embarrassed as I’m pretty used to having the majority of my body on show. Why do the gays love watching diving and swimming? Young men in pretty good shape and not wearing many clothes I think sums it up. We’re doing a kind of showy-off sport, so we’re not very quiet and it’s clear we enjoy what we do. We’ve had Chris Mears and Jack Laugher pose for us. Why do you guys like getting naked for us? We’re very used to not wearing much and self-confidence can come from diving, so it’s not a big deal to us to get our clothes off. Do you get much gay attention? I do get a bit. I’m not at the stage of Tom Daley in of diving yet, but I do get fan mail and lots of comments on Twitter and Facebook. And I have gay friends – including Tom. Will Tom coming out encourage athletes in other sports to do the same? I hope so. Luckily within diving there already are a few gay men who have come out before, and I hope more do. It’s a brave thing Tom did with the attention he gets. It was a big move for him and it might encourage other people to have the confidence to step up. How does it feel being on the other end of the camera lens, and naked? It was quite liberating in a way. I was nervous beforehand but as soon as the robe came off and they took the first picture, I got into it. I wanted to do it because of the charity involved and because I thought, “I’m 35-years-old now, I’m in fairly decent shape and I’ve never had a naked photoshoot before. If I don’t do it now, when am I going to do it?” How old were you when you came out? I struggled with my sexuality a lot as a kid, although I’ve always known I was gay for as long as I can . I was 16 when I came out to a couple of close friends, then I accidentally came out to my mum when I was 18. I went to a gay night at a straight club where you had to become a member. I put my name and address down, so when they sent promotional gear to my house, my mum opened it thinking it was addressed to my dad. It was difficult for her to get her head around for quite a few years, but everything is good now. Should celebrities come out of the closet? I can see this argument from both sides, but personally I don’t think anyone should be forced to come out if they’re not ready – regardless of who they are. Celebrities coming out does massively help the gay community, but there are some big Hollywood stars who’re never going to open up that closet. Many people assume tabloid newspaper offices to be homophobic. How have you found it? I’ve not found it homophobic at all, surprisingly. You probably think the Daily Star Sunday might be, because it’s very orientated towards straight guys with nice girlies in it. But it’s never been a problem and there are a quite a few other gay people who work there. Plus, showbiz and TV is practically ruled by gays! n @jamesinrehab

How often do you check your balls? Quite regularly. You’ve got to, haven’t you? Or I get a bird to check them for me. Are all Geordie men now hairless? I’m literally, from my beard down, bald. It looks better and makes you look bigger, doesn’t it? Hair darkens your arms and chest and doesn’t make you look as defined. I tried waxing once before and I wouldn’t do it again. The girl whipped off half the wax and I said no way to any more. I had to go home and slowly peel the rest off. Are you happy with how you measure up downstairs? Yeah, definitely. If you watch Geordie Shore you’ll know how big I am – and I think a lot of people are satisfied with it! How did you get a role in Geordie Shore? The series producer came into one of my clubs and without knowing who she was, I tried to pull her. I flirted with her and that actually got me the job. What did she tell you about what would happen in the show? Lots of drinking and lots of sex and that’s exactly what’s happened. I ended up banging everything that moved. Was it strange watching yourself having sex on TV? Yeah, it’s a bit weird. I suppose there’s worse jobs out there though, isn’t there? I loved watching it back and me mam and dad think it’s hilarious too. They’re proud of me; they’re very modern and open-minded. My dad was all for me doing a shoot for GT. Who is your celebrity man crush? Channing Tatum; anything with him in is amazing and I’d love to look like that bloke. He’s mint. n

Did you need much talking around to do this? No, as soon as my company manager said it was for charity I said, “Of course I’ll do it!” I check myself regularly and, when I’m in the shower, I’ll have a fiddle when I’m having a wash down there. You’ve got to, haven’t you? How did you prepare yourself for today? I prepared by spending last night eating ice cream and watching the Great British Bake Off. But I did squeeze a little session in at the gym this morning. I don’t go as much as I should, I’ll go once or twice a week and I’m a bit of a cardio freak. What do people fancy about you most? They seem to like my V-line and my arms. I’m confident with how I look but I don’t think I’m vain. There are a lot of people who obsess over certain parts, but I think that’s a waste of time and I’m realistic; I’d rather look at the positives than the negatives. You’re starring in West End musical Urinetown – what’s it about? It’s set in some crazy, weird, dark dystopian future where there’s a serious water drought. Private toilets are banned and we have to use public bathrooms. And if you’re caught urinating in the bushes you get taken to Urinetown, from which you’re never heard of again. Then the poor start rising against the corporate beast and it’s a story about love, hope and revolution, and reflects today’s political and ecological climate. It might be dark, but it’s full of joy as well. I play Bobby, the leader of the rebellion who’s the hero of the show but who makes some silly mistakes along the way.
