कबीर दास जी के दोहे / Kabir Ke Dohe ABOUT KABIR DAS : Kabir Das, a mystical poet and great Saint of India, was born in the year 1440 and died in the year 1518. According to the Islam the meaning of the Kabir is The Great. Kabir Panth is the huge religious community which identifies the Kabir as the originator of the Sant Mat sects. The of Kabir Panth are known as the Kabir panthis who had extended all over the over north and central India. Some of the great writings of the Kabir Das are Bijak, Kabir Granthawali, Anurag Sagar, Sakhi Granth etc. It is clearly not known about his birth parents but it is noted that he has been grew up by the very poor family of Muslim weavers. He was very spiritual person and became a great Sadhu. He got fame all over the world because of his influential traditions and culture. The people in the community are called Kabir Panthis and are spread all over India. Kabir had written some epic Granths (books). Some of the writings include Sakhi Granth, Kabir Granthawali etc. Every year Kabir Das Jayanti is celebrated on different dates. It is basically the celebration of birthday of poet Kabirdas. Childhood It is said that the background of his family or parents is not clear, but Kabirdas grew up in very miserable conditions amongst desolated Muslim weavers. He was very spiritual person and became a great Sadhu. Though his birthdate is not known but he is supposed to have spent almost one hundred and twenty years on earth. He was born in the year 1398. Training Basically, he did not take any spiritual training, but received fundamentals from his Guru named, Ramananda, in his early childhood. But it was his inner voice that helped him seek the pathway. He used to write poetries on his own. He never went to acquire education. He was a self-made man and discovered everything on his own. It was his latent talent that made him create legendary writings. His writings changed the way Indians used to think.

His works The messages in his writings were directed towards those whom we call in modern day language as below poverty line, were then called the downtrodden, poor, miserable, desolated and deprived of basic necessities like food, shelter and clothing. Primary purpose of his legends was to "protest against social discrimination and economic exploitation”. His best work is ‘Bijak’. He has his collection of writings including poetries that elucidated his universal spiritual point of view. His work is his legacy. He died in the year 1518.

कबीर दास जी के दोहे / Kabir Ke Dohe फुया जो दे खन भैं चरा, फुया न मभमरमा कोम, जो ददर खोजा आऩना, भझ ु से फयु ा न कोम।

अर्थ : जब मैं इस सॊसार में बुराई खोजने चऱा तो मुझे कोई बुरा न ममऱा. जब मैंने अपने मन में झाॉक कर दे खा तो पाया कक मझ ु से बरु ा कोई नह ॊ है . Meaning : When I went to find the evil in this world, so I did not mind . When I found that I have seen peeping in your mind is not bad .

ऩोथी ऩद़ि ऩद़ि जग भुआ, ऩॊडडत बमा न कोम, ढाई आखय प्रेभ का, ऩ़िे सो ऩॊडडत होम।

अथथ : इस सॊसाय भें ऐसे सज्जनों की जरूयत है जैसे अनाज साफ़ कयने वारा सूऩ होता है . जो साथथक को फचा रेंगे औय ननयथथक को उडा दें गे.

Meaning: the world needs such gentlemen as grain is clear soup . Which will deliver meaningful and meaningless will blow up .

नतनका कफहुॉ ना ननन्ददमे, जो ऩाॉवन तय होम, कफहुॉ उडी आॉखखन ऩडे, तो ऩीय घनेयी होम।

अथथ : कफीय कहते हैं कक एक छोटे से नतनके की बी कबी ननॊदा न कयो जो तुम्हाये ऩाॊवों के नीचे दफ जाता है . मदद कबी वह नतनका उडकय आॉख भें आ गगये तो ककतनी गहयी ऩीडा होती है !

Meaning : Kabir says that a small straws that do not ever condemn is buried under your feet . If ever he fell so deep into the straw fly eye hurt! धीये -धीये ये भना, धीये सफ कुछ होम,

भारी सीॊचे सौ घडा, ॠतु आए पर होम। अथथ : भन भें धीयज यखने से सफ कुछ होता है . अगय कोई भारी ककसी ऩेड को सौ घडे ऩानी से सीॊचने रगे तफ बी पर तो ऋतु आने ऩय ही रगेगा !

Meaning: everything is in the mind of the patient . If a gardener watering a tree a hundred barrels of water were still on the fruit will fall !

जानत न ऩूछो साधु की, ऩूछ रीन्जमे ऻान,

भोर कयो तयवाय का, ऩडा यहन दो म्मान। अर्थ : सज्जन की जानत न ऩछ ू कय उसके ऻान को सभझना चादहए. तरवाय का भल् ू म होता है न कक उसकी भमान का – उसे ढकने वारे खोर का.

Meaning: the gentleman 's race should not ask her knowledge . And not the value of the Mayan Sword - the covering of the shell .

दोस ऩयाए दे खख करय, चरा हसदत हसदत,

अऩने माद न आवई, न्जनका आदद न अॊत। अथथ : मह भनुष्म का स्वबाव है कक जफ वह दस ू यों के दोष दे ख कय हॊ सता है , तफ उसे अऩने दोष माद नहीॊ आते न्जनका न आदद है न अॊत.

Meaning : It is the nature of man that he is glad to see the faults of others , and he does not his faults , which is neither a beginning nor an end फोरी एक अनभोर है , जो कोई फोरै जानन,

दहमे तयाजू तौमर के, तफ भुख फाहय आनन।

अथथ : मदद कोई सही तयीके से फोरना जानता है तो उसे ऩता है कक वाणी एक अभल् ू म यत्न है । इसमरए वह ह्रदम के तयाजू भें तोरकय ही उसे भुॊह से फाहय आने दे ता है . Meaning : If someone knows the right way to say that he says is a priceless gem . So he came out of the mouth of the heart gives him Tolkar scales . अनत का बरा न फोरना, अनत की बरी न चऩ ू ,

अनत का बरा न फयसना, अनत की बरी न धऩ ू ।

अथथ : न तो अगधक फोरना अच्छा है , न ही जरूयत से ज्मादा चऩ ु यहना ही ठीक है . जैसे फहुत अगधक वषाथ बी अच्छी नहीॊ औय फहुत अगधक धऩ ू बी अच्छी नहीॊ है . Meaning: no more speak good, nor too much to live up is exactly the same . Such as too much rain and too much sun is not good is not good . ननॊदक ननमये याखखए, ऑ ॊगन कुटी छवाम,

बफन ऩानी, साफन ु बफना, ननभथर कये सब ु ाम। अथथ : जो हभायी ननॊदा कयता है , उसे अऩने अगधकागधक ऩास ही यखना चादहए। वह तो बफना साफुन औय ऩानी के हभायी कमभमाॊ फता कय हभाये स्वबाव को साफ़ कयता है .

Meaning: our condemns him to keep his increasingly close . He then soap and water without telling us our nature clears drawbacks .

दर थ भानुष जदभ है , दे ह न फायम्फाय, ु ब

तरुवय ज्मों ऩत्ता झडे, फहुरय न रागे डाय। अथथ : इस सॊसाय भें भनुष्म का जदभ भुन्ककर से मभरता है . मह भानव शयीय उसी तयह फाय-फाय नहीॊ मभरता जैसे वऺ ृ से ऩत्ता झड जाए तो दोफाया डार ऩय नहीॊ रगता.

Meaning: a man born into this world is hard . The human body does not get

repeated in the same way as the leaf falls from the tree , then do not put back . कफीया खडा फाजाय भें , भाॊगे सफकी खैय, ना काहू से दोस्ती,न काहू से फैय.

अथथ : इस सॊसाय भें आकय कफीय अऩने जीवन भें फस मही चाहते हैं कक सफका बरा हो औय सॊसाय भें मदद ककसी से दोस्ती नहीॊ तो दकु भनी बी न हो !

Meaning : Kabir came into this world just want that for everyone's good in your life and in the world, if not hostility, to be friends with anyone else ! दहदद ू कहें भोदह याभ पऩमाया, तुकथ कहें यहभाना,

आऩस भें दोउ रडी-रडी भुए, भयभ न कोउ जाना।

अथथ : कफीय कहते हैं कक दहदद ू याभ के बक्त हैं औय तुकथ (भुन्स्रभ) को यहभान प्माया है . इसी फात ऩय दोनों रडरड कय भौत के भुॊह भें जा ऩहुॊच,े तफ बी दोनों भें से कोई सच को न जान ऩामा।

Meaning : Kabir says that Hindus are devotees of Rama and Turk ( Muslim )

Rahman cute. Both fighting on the same matter - fighting stormed death , yet neither have come to know the truth .

कहत सन ु त सफ ददन गए, उयखझ न सयु झ्मा भन. कही कफीय चेत्मा नहीॊ, अजहूॉ सो ऩहरा ददन.

अर्थ : कहते सन ु ते सफ ददन ननकर गए, ऩय मह भन उरझ कय न सर ु झ ऩामा. कफीय कहते हैं कक अफ बी मह भन होश भें नहीॊ आता. आज बी इसकी अवस्था ऩहरे ददन के सभान ही है .

Meaning : Say hearing went all day , not solved it found tangled mind . Kabir says that the conscious mind is not still . The state is still the same as the first day .

कफीय रहरय सभॊद की, भोती बफखये आई. फगर ु ा बेद न जानई, हॊ सा चन ु ी-चन ु ी खाई.

अर्थ :कफीय कहते हैं कक सभुद्र की रहय भें भोती आकय बफखय गए. फगुरा उनका बेद नहीॊ जानता, ऩयदतु हॊ स उदहें चन ु -चन ु कय खा यहा है . इसका अथथ मह है कक ककसी बी वस्तु का भहत्व जानकाय ही जानता है ।

Meaning : Kabir says that pearls come in a sea wave shattered . Heron does not

know the difference between them , but the goose is eating them selectively . This means that any object that knows the importance of the information . जफ गुण को गाहक मभरे, तफ गुण राख बफकाई. जफ गुण को गाहक नहीॊ, तफ कौडी फदरे जाई. अर्थ : कफीय कहते हैं कक जफ गुण को ऩयखने वारा गाहक मभर जाता है तो गुण की कीभत होती है . ऩय जफ ऐसा गाहक नहीॊ मभरता, तफ गण ु कौडी के बाव चरा जाता है .

Meaning : Kabir says that the client gets the test properties are priced properties . When the client does not get it , then drops the price of properties fetched . कफीय कहा गयबफमो, कार गहे कय केस. ना जाने कहाॉ भारयसी, कै घय कै ऩयदे स.

अथथ : कफीय कहते हैं कक हे भानव ! तू क्मा गवथ कयता है ? कार अऩने हाथों भें तेये केश ऩकडे हुए है . भारूभ नहीॊ, वह घय मा ऩयदे श भें , कहाॉ ऩय तुझे भाय डारे. Meaning : Kabir say Hey man ! What makes you proud ? Call your hairstyle is

holding in his hands . Do not know , in the home or abroad , where you should kill . ऩानी केया फुदफुदा, अस भानुस की जात. एक ददना नछऩ जाएगा,ज्मों ताया ऩयबात. अर्थ : कफीय का कथन है कक जैसे ऩानी के फर ु फर ु े, इसी प्रकाय भनष्ु म का शयीय ऺणबॊगयु है ।जैसे प्रबात होते ही ताये नछऩ जाते हैं, वैसे ही मे दे ह बी एक ददन नष्ट हो जाएगी.

Meaning: Kabir's statement that as the water bubbles , similar to the human body when the morning stars are hidden fleeting As such , just what the body will one day be destroyed .

हाड जरै ज्मूॊ राकडी, केस जरै ज्मूॊ घास. सफ तन जरता दे खख करय, बमा कफीय उदास. अर्थ : मह नकवय भानव दे ह अॊत सभम भें रकडी की तयह जरती है औय केश घास की तयह जर उठते हैं. सम्ऩण ू थ शयीय को इस तयह जरता दे ख, इस अॊत ऩय कफीय का भन उदासी से बय जाता है . — Meaning : The mortal human body like wood burning in the end times and the hair rise like grass burning . Such burns entire body , looking at the end of Kabir 's mind is filled with sadness

जो उग्मा सो अदतफै, पूल्मा सो कुभराहीॊ। जो गचननमा सो ढही ऩडे, जो आमा सो जाहीॊ। अथथ : इस सॊसाय का ननमभ मही है कक जो उदम हुआ है ,वह अस्त होगा। जो पवकमसत हुआ है वह भयु झा जाएगा. जो गचना गमा है वह गगय ऩडेगा औय जो आमा है वह जाएगा. Meaning: that is the law of this world, which has blossomed, it will be lit . He has developed will shrink . Chia is that he will fall and it will come. झूठे सुख को सुख कहे , भानत है भन भोद. खरक चफैना कार का, कुछ भुॊह भें कुछ गोद. अथथ : कफीय कहते हैं कक अये जीव ! तू झूठे सुख को सुख कहता है औय भन भें प्रसदन होता है ? दे ख मह साया सॊसाय भत्ृ मु के मरए उस बोजन के सभान है , जो कुछ तो उसके भुॊह भें है औय कुछ गोद भें खाने के मरए यखा है .

Meaning : Kabir say Hey creatures ! Thou false happiness and pleasure calls to mind is happy

My food is similar to that for the whole world to death , whatever

is in his mouth and has to eat in a few laps .

ऐसा कोई ना मभरे, हभको दे उऩदे स. बौ सागय भें डूफता, कय गदह काढै केस. अथथ : कफीय सॊसायी जनों के मरए दखु खत होते हुए कहते हैं कक इदहें कोई ऐसा ऩथप्रदशथक न मभरा जो उऩदे श दे ता औय सॊसाय सागय भें डूफते हुए इन प्राखणमों को अऩने हाथों से केश ऩकड कय ननकार रेता. —

Meaning : Kabir says that these are worldly people grieved for was not found any teaching and guiding the world drowning in the ocean by holding these creatures withdraws cash from his hands .

सॊत ना छाडै सॊतई, जो कोदटक मभरे असॊत चददन बुवॊगा फैदठमा, तऊ सीतरता न तजॊत। अर्थ : सज्जन को चाहे कयोडों दष्ु ट ऩरु ु ष मभरें कपय बी वह अऩने बरे स्वबाव को नहीॊ छोडता. चददन के ऩेड से साॊऩ मरऩटे यहते हैं, ऩय वह अऩनी शीतरता नहीॊ छोडता.

Meaning: gentle guy get a multi- wicked nature even if he does not leave yet . Sandalwood trees cling to the snake , but he does not leave his coldness

कफीय तन ऩॊछी बमा, जहाॊ भन तहाॊ उडी जाइ. जो जैसी सॊगती कय, सो तैसा ही पर ऩाइ. अर्थ :कफीय कहते हैं कक सॊसायी व्मन्क्त का शयीय ऩऺी फन गमा है औय जहाॊ उसका भन होता है , शयीय उडकय वहीॊ ऩहुॉच जाता है । सच है कक जो जैसा साथ कयता है , वह वैसा ही पर ऩाता है .

Meaning : Kabir says that the bird has become a worldly man 's body , his mind

and body, while the fly is reached . As it does with the fact that he finds the same fruit .

तन को जोगी सफ कयें , भन को बफयरा कोई. सफ मसपि सहजे ऩाइए, जे भन जोगी होइ. अर्थ : शयीय भें बगवे वस्र धायण कयना सयर है , ऩय भन को मोगी फनाना बफयरे ही व्मन्क्तमों का काभ है य़दद भन मोगी हो जाए तो सायी मसपिमाॉ सहज ही प्राप्त हो जाती हैं. Meaning: the body is easy to Bgve robes , men work on the mind seldom make Yogi Yogi Yhdi mind in case all the powers are naturally derived .

कफीय सो धन सॊच,े जो आगे को होम. सीस च़िाए ऩोटरी, रे जात न दे ख्मो कोम. अर्थ : कफीय कहते हैं कक उस धन को इकट्ठा कयो जो बपवष्म भें काभ आए. सय ऩय धन की गठयी फाॉध कय रे जाते तो ककसी को नहीॊ दे खा. Meaning : Kabir says that gather funds which have fallen in the future . Head of wealth not seen anybody move bale tie

भामा भुई न भन भुआ, भयी भयी गमा सयीय. आसा बरसना न भुई, मों कही गए कफीय . अर्थ : कफीय कहते हैं कक सॊसाय भें यहते हुए न भामा भयती है न भन. शयीय न जाने ककतनी फाय भय चक ु ा ऩय भनष्ु म की आशा औय तष्ृ णा कबी नहीॊ भयती, कफीय ऐसा कई फाय कह चक ु े हैं. भन हीॊ भनोयथ छाॊडी दे , तेया ककमा न होई. ऩानी भें नघव ननकसे, तो रूखा खाए न कोई.

अर्थ : भनुष्म भार को सभझाते हुए कफीय कहते हैं कक भन की इच्छाएॊ छोड दो , उदहें तुभ अऩने फूते ऩय ऩण ू थ नहीॊ कय सकते। मदद ऩानी से घी ननकर आए, तो रूखी योटी कोई न खाएगा.

Meaning : Kabir says, explaining that the mere desire of the mind to leave them on their own can not fulfill you . If the water came out of the melted butter , then you will not dry bread .

जफ भैं था तफ हयी नहीॊ, अफ हयी है भैं नाही | सफ अॉगधमाया मभट गमा, दीऩक दे खा भाही ||

अर्थ : जफ भैं अऩने अहॊ काय भें डूफा था – तफ प्रबु को न दे ख ऩाता था – रेककन जफ गुरु ने ऻान का दीऩक भेये बीतय प्रकामशत ककमा तफ अऻान का सफ अदधकाय मभट गमा जाता यहा औय ऻान के आरोक भें प्रबु को ऩामा.

– ऻान की ज्मोनत से अहॊ काय

Meaning : When I was in my ego - he could not see God - but when the master lamp of knowledge and ignorance , all published within my darkness disappear -

the light of the knowledge of the ego and in the light of the knowledge of the Lord found

आछे / ऩाछे ददन ऩाछे गए हयी से ककमा न हे त | अफ ऩछताए होत क्मा, गचडडमा चग ु गई खेत ||

अर्थ : दे खते ही दे खते सफ बरे ददन – अच्छा सभम फीतता चरा गमा – तुभने प्रबु से रौ नहीॊ रगाई – प्माय नहीॊ ककमा सभम फीत जाने ऩय ऩछताने से क्मा मभरेगा? ऩहरे जागरूक न थे – ठीक उसी तयह

जैसे कोई ककसान अऩने खेत की यखवारी ही न कये औय दे खते ही दे खते ऩॊछी उसकी पसर फफाथद कय जाएॊ. Meaning : even all day sight seeing - went good time goes - you do not put the flame of God - love not what get repenting over decades ? Were not aware of before - just as a farmer guarding his farm and seeing see not only birds to destroy his crop .

यात गॊवाई सोम के, ददवस गॊवामा खाम ।

हीया जदभ अभोर सा, कोडी फदरे जाम ॥

अर्थ : यात नीॊद भें नष्ट कय दी – सोते यहे – ददन भें बोजन से पुसथत नहीॊ मभरी मह भनुष्म जदभ हीये के साभान फहुभल् ू म था न्जसे तभ ु ने व्मथथ कय ददमा – कुछ साथथक ककमा नहीॊ तो जीवन का क्मा भल् ू म फचा ? एक कौडी –

Meaning: Deleted night sleep - sleeping - it did not have time in the day from food stuffs valuable diamond was born a man whom you 've wasted - what the value of life left if not done something worthwhile ? A clamshell .

फडा हुआ तो क्मा हुआ जैसे ऩेड खजूय। ऩॊछी को छामा नहीॊ पर रागे अनत दयू ॥ अर्थ: खजूय के ऩेड के सभान फडा होने का क्मा राब, जो ना ठीक से ककसी को छाॉव दे ऩाता है औय न ही उसके पर सुरब होते हैं.

Meaning : to grow like palm trees benefit , which does not give right to any shade nor its fruit accessible .
