Între legend și realitate Pe cursul raului Bistrita, în preajma Muntilor Calimani, judetul Bistrita-Nasaud a fost creat prin construirea barajului Colibita, Lacul Colibița care fascinează cu frumuseţea sa sălbatică, dar şi cu zecile de legende care circulă în legătură cu această zonă. Oamenii locului spun că lacul este blestemat şi că îşi ia an de an tribut cel puţin o viaţă. Povestea începe în anul 1850 când pe aceste meleaguri erau doar 14 locuitori, care în 1869 şi-au amenajat şi o biserică. Localitatea Colibița își luase numele de la „colibe”, locuinţele temporare amenajate de primii ciobani care au transformat locul pitoresc întrun sat. Cel care a văzut potenţialul turistic al acestei zone a fost tâmplarul de origine germană W. Ianitchi, care a construit mai multe case de vacanţă pentru saşii din Bistriţa în 1918. Nu doar potenţialul turistic al zonei a atras bistriţenii la Colibiţa. Informaţii despre proprietăţile curative ale aerului din Colibiţa au început să circule încă din 1883, atunci când o tânără din Bistriţa se spune că s-a vindecat de tuberculoză datorită aerului din această zonă, foarte bogat în ozon. În 1979 se ia decizia de strămutare a satului Colibiţa pe dealurile din apropiere, în localitatea numită Miţa, pentru a se amenaja în vale un lac de acumulare, menit să asigure alimentarea cu apă a întregii zone. Deşi inginerii care au lucrat la acest lac şi la baraj asigură că zona a fost curăţată foarte bine înainte, fiind scoşi inclusiv copacii, localnicii sunt convinşi că pe fundul lacului încă se mai regăsesc clădirile. Una dintre legendele care circulă în zonă se referă la fosta biserică din lacul scufundat. Aceasta spune că atunci când scade apa, se poate observa crucea de pe biserică. „Şi eu ştiu că o parte din sat, cu tot cu biserică, e tot în lac. Mai mulţi feciori care au intrat sub apă au spus că au văzut turnul bisericii. Dispariţia în apele lacului din anul 2008 a unui tânăr din Reghin nu a făcut altceva decât să dea apă la moară acestor legende ale „blestemului”.

Pescarii susţin şi acum cu tărie faptul că lacul chiar ar găzdui peşti uriaşi care ajung la câţiva metri buni, care stau pe fundul acestuia. Imagini filmate cu o dronă dezvăluie o față nemaivăzută a lacului de acumulare Colibița, golit parțial pentru lucrări de reabilitare a barajului.
