the we give them on it. Assessment can serve an important role in enhancing student motivation and achievement. A test or examination is an assessment intended to measure a students’ knowledge, skill, aptitude, physical fitness or classification in many other topics. It may be istered orally, on paper, or in a confined area that requires students to physically perform a set of skills. Tests vary in style, and requirements. In the Philippines, periodical tests are istered in all levels of public and private schools. To ensure that learning really takes place our school conducted a two-day Periodical test last August 12-13,2014. Our principal, Dr. Lilybeth D. Dasco promotes quality education, she believes that teaching effectively and efficiently is not the only means for better learning but also on how to assess our students. As we all know that through assessment we’re not just assessing the knowledge learned by the students but also on how effective a teacher was. That’s why all teachers devoted all their time and effort in constructing test items for each subject to make sure that every test item assess Higher order Thinking Skills ( HOTS ).
II. Activities Conducted during the Examination During the first day of the examination, August 12, 2014, the morning session starts at exactly 6:00 am and all grade three teachers established rapport to the students that’s why the fear in the test minimized. The teacher explained that the first four-subjects taken are Mathematics, E.S.P, Science and Araling Panlipunan. There is a total of 60 minutes allotted for each subject to answer and a short break is scheduled after the first two test. After explaining the flow of the test the teacher orients the students about the rules to be followed during the test. It includes the ff:
All bags must be in front of the room and all notebooks should be left inside the bag.
They must have lead pencil, eraser, sharpener and a sheet of blank paper for computation purposes. They are not allowed to communicate in any way with any person other than their teacher during the examination. They are not allowed to start the test proper unless the teacher told them to do so. Students are reminded to shade circle for correct options on answer-sheet. Students are also reminded to avoid using liquid/tape eraser in erasing shaded circles.
After having the orientation, students put their bag at the front of the room.

Teachers guide the students in answering each test item being istered. The teacher istered the subject they’ve handled for further question of the students.
The morning session ends at exactly 10: 55 am, the remaining 30 minutes are allotted for the advisers time or the homeroom time for the students to arrange their things, to clean the room and for some reminders given by their advisers. Likewise, same activities happened during the afternoon session, the examination started at exactly 12:00 pm and ends at exactly 5:30 pm.
On the second day of the examination, August 13, 2014 the remaining four- subjects taken are English, MAPEH, Filipino and MTB. And same activities happened just like the first day.

III. Conclusion The first and second day of the examination was found to be successful through the cooperation of all grade three teachers. All of us cooperate in planning on what we should do to conduct our periodical test more effectively. The students really feel that the periodical test is very important. We hope that on the next grading all of the students will be more focus on the lessons being discuss by their teachers so that for the next test they will get a high grade. And now they already knew that the test is not like the usual daily assessment that they’ve answered. They will now become more serious in answering every question. The only problem that we’ve noticed on this examination is the bigger number of absent students especially on the Opportunity Class, but still for those who are absent their teachers will give special examination. This assessment remind us also that as teachers we should be serious in teaching we should do our part in imparting knowledge to our students.
