• Climate of the UAE is desert-influenced, with little rain in the winter months and long hot summers. • Edaphic factors concern soil consists of subkha, sandy or rocky areas lacking particularly nitrogen. Wind erosion inhibits vegetational spread. • Biotic factors concern other disturbances over cutting by man for fuel, fencing, medicinal purposes, over grazing by wild and domestic animals, fires, and other form of damage.

Dates are important component in their food habits and its available from date palms that grows in desert.

Livestock and Vegetation

Other plants like Cactus ,Ghaf ,Acacia grows in desert soil and their roots help to prevent erosion. Camels are used for transporting and products from camel milk are used as food .Other animals like Ornyx ,Falcons, Gazelle also lives in the deserts. Skin of the animals were used to preserve water in olden days. Presently new methods of farming and cultivation have started for balancing the requirements of people and for sustained development.

Natural vegetation refers to plant life undisturbed by humans in its growth and which is controlled by the climatic conditions of that region. Livestock are domesticated animals raised in an agricultural setting to produce commodities such as food, fiber and labor, generally raised for profit.

Conclusion Due to the above components nomadic life slowly decreased and modern farming started. Apart from the above fishing and pearl diving also contributed to UAE ‘s culture.
