SUNY Oswego School of Education Pre/Post Test Analysis Template www.oswego.edu/~educate/preposttestanalysis.xls This Excel workbook is designed to help teachers analyze the scores of up to 30 students taking a pre/post test with up to 25 questions. It provides mean scores for the whole group. It also allows teachers to disaggregate the data for subgroups defined by up to four levels of one student characteristic (e.g., male/female, up to four levels of SES, up to four ethnic groups, etc). GENERAL DIRECTIONS: Save this file to your computer by clicking on "Save As" an Excel workbook under the "File" tab on your web browser. Close your web browser and open the Excel file. Click on the tabs at the bottom of your screen to reveal the other five worksheets included in this template. Worksheets 2-4 ask you to enter test score data from your students. Complete the worksheets in order. ENTER DATA ONLY IN THE YELLOW AREAS! Information entered in the first worksheets is automatically carried over into subsequent worksheets as needed. Worksheets 5-6 require no data entry at all – they use the information from Worksheets 2-4 to summarize your pre- and post-test scores and provide simple bar graphs to illustrate the differences.
