Once Saved Always Saved / Eternal Security / You will not surely Die False Teachings Refuted "I use the phrase "Indian Giver", I think that disparaging but we understand it right? God gives, he's not the taker, His roll is "THE GIVER" of eternal life. Once he's given it to us, we own it. It's ours. We own it. We possess it. This is the harder part. Ready? We cannot forfeit it. There is nothing we can do to forfeit eternal life." (This false statement was preached by a Baptist Church Preacher) Job refutes him: JOB 1:21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.
John 10:26-29 JN 10:26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. JN 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: JN 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. JN 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
The age says NO MAN, but it doesn't say that Satan can't devour us. 1PET 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 1PET 5:9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
The Words of Jesus "No man is able to pluck them out of my hand" Is changed to mean… "No matter what you do , you cannot forfeit it" The age, when placed back into context, is referring to The Sheep of Jesus not being mislead by false teachings. They know the voice of Jesus and will not follow a stranger. They FOLLOW JESUS (vs 27) and KNOW HIS VOICE JN 10:29 "No man is able to pluck them out of my hand" (Is saying no man will be able to lead them astray. ) This is easily understood by putting the verse back into context and reading verses 4, 5 12, and 13. JN 10:4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. JN 10:5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. JN 10:12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. JN 10:13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
It is ironic that the very verses that warn the sheep not to follow seducing spirits are the very ages used to seduce them into believing that no matter what they do is ok.
A Hireling will flee when the wolf comes. Below are more ages warnings of "wolves, scorpions, 'men who would want to pluck the flock from God', hirelings, clouds without water, etc…" 1PET 3:10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: 1PET 3:11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. 1PET 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. (Notice Peter is not saying we are "saved or not saved", but are you doing righteous or evil? This is a New Testament age)
2PET 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2PET 2:2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. (when we do evil as a Christian, the Gospel of Christ is spoken evil of. We no longer sow, but scatter)
2PET 2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 2PET 2:21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. 2PET 2:22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. JUD 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, JUD 1:12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; (what do you think "withering fruit is?)
twice dead, plucked up by the roots; Notice the verse says "TWICE DEAD"!! That can only be interpreted, dead, alive, dead again. 2 Peter says it were better for them to have NOT KNOWN THE WAY OF RIGHTEOUSNESS THAN TO TURN FROM the HOLY COMMANDMENT
LK 14:28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? LK 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. (2 more unheeded warnings) The Bible does not teach saved or unsaved, but it is he who finishes the race.
Further Severe Warnings of ScriptureLK 12:45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; LK 12:46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. (Notice the warning in the above age, the believer will be with the unbeliever) Please also read Matthew 25, The Parable of the 10 virgins. They had oil in their lamps. This is the Holy Spirit. Five of them let their oil run out. In this parable, Jesus says to the five "I don't know you". This is confirmed in Hebrews 6: 4-6 If you are being pricked in your heart, do not harden your heart. This means your light has not gone out, hopefully. HEB 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) HEB 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: HEB 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. HEB 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, HEB 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. HEB 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. HEB 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; (another "if" age. There are many if's that are overlooked, scoffed at, smeared, smudged, or omitted altogether and hid under the blanket of "they were never saved in the first place" This is just not true. The 10 Virgins. Jesus warns they all had oil. 5 LET THEIR OIL RUN OUT! Placing the responsibility on them.) If you are lukewarm I will spew you out of my mouth. LK 13:24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. LK 13:25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: LK 13:26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. LK 13:27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. (if not sinning means "works", what does "STRIVE" mean? People will be saying "Lord Lord, people who thought they were believers) Many read Romans 8:1 and quote the first half. few read the second part of the verse. : …who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (this warning is often omitted)
Many read John 3:16. Few, if any, rarely read past that verse. JN 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. JN 3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. JN 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. 1JN 2:9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. 1JN 2:11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. 1JN 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
2PET 3:17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. (2nd Peter is written to all those with like precious faith) That warning is to every believer!!!
Eternal Security Teachers usually respond with the same "He was never saved in the first place". When the warnings are repeated, severe and clear, that all those backslidden were once believers. They were saved, but believed in vain.
1COR 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
"I use the phrase "Indian Giver", I think that disparaging but we understand it right? God gives, he's not the taker, His roll is "THE GIVER" of eternal life. Once he's given it to us, we own it. ROM 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; For those who have repented and come to Godly Sorrow.
2COR 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. 2COR 7:11 For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter. And who have been given the Gift of The Holy Spirit, that keeps us walking in the light, and keeps us from sin.
ROM 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
It is not God who would be an "Indian Giver", (the one who "reneged") if we, after being given so many great Gifts, threw them all away for the world. 2TIM 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; JAS 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. JAS 5:20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
Jesus said if you love me you will keep my words. Green trees will not follow the strangers, wolves, scorpions, hirelings, clouds without water, those who will want to "pluck" the flock from the Father's hand With their doctrine of "sin is ok and there is nothing we can do to forfeit our salvation" (Rev 9, Eze 2:6 .) The Scorpions will not be able to sway those who meditate on God's laws day and night They will be like trees planted by water Psalm 1.
These warnings need to be read to the sheep. Please read these warnings from the word of God at your next meeting, and let the people decide for themselves. Each will give an .
IS 66:2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word. IS 66:5 Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed. We now have the Fear of God and now tremble at His Word.
