SITI JAMILAH REFLECTIVE SUMMARY M6 LA3 In this activity I have learnt about procedure text. Procedure text is a text which describes how something is achieved through a sequence of actions or steps. The social function is to describe how something is accomplished through a sequence of actions or steps. As a text, procedure can be defined in regard to the social function, the text structure, and the lexico-grammatical features.

The generic structures of procedure text are include: 

Goal



Materials (not required for all procedural texts)



Steps 1 – n (i.e. goal followed by series of steps oriented to achieve the goal)

Significant Lexico grammatical Features: 

Focus on generalized human agents



Use of simple present tense, often imperative



Use mainly of temporal conjunctions (or numbering to indicate sequence)



Use mainly of material processes

What I like Most in this activity is knowing the correct procedures or steps of making or using something.

What I need to improve/learn more is about how to make a procedure text using the correct generic structures and grammatical so the text has the right steps.
