SAC Pros / Cons

Pros • Easy to learn to make own subassemblies • Start with simple SA’s, and make them more complex • More intelligent than stock SA’s • Makes a nice combo with Corridor Solids

Cons • No encryption – like sending out source code • Not very friendly on complex SA’s • No combination with custom .NET code • No Pipe Network targets

How to Import Custom subassemblies to Civil 3D

• .pkt files • Create new palette • Import .pkt files to new tool palette

Update custom subassemblies • Check out new conditions, parameters, targets • Update the .pkt file • How to update the corridor with updated subassembly without disturbing existing corridor regions, targets etc. – – – – – –

Remove the existing .pkt file from tool pallete Close the civil 3d Delete the .dll file / subassembly folder from ‘Imported tool’ Open civil 3d and import new subassembly Copy .net path of new .pkt Open the propeties of existing subassembly in corridor and go to the .net path and replace it with new copied path. – Rebuild the corridor – This procedure will not work when you add new targets to subassembly.
