A. NICU NICU (Neonate Intensive Care Unit) is the intensive care unit for newborn (neonatal) that require special care such as low weight, respiratory function is less than perfect, prematurely, have difficulty in giving birth, shows the sign in trouble the first few days of life. Room NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) and PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) isth e intensive care room for babies (up to age 28 days) and children who need specialcare and treatment, in order to prevent and treat the onset of failure of vital organs Briefly some of the equipment that is in regular use at the NICU babies are treated in the NICU : a) Feeding tube
Often the baby in the NICU can't get the food they need through the mouth directly, so the nurse will put up a small hose through the mouth up to my stomach. As a way to enter breast milk or infant formula. Function: for nutrition/food liquids through the granting of the mouth or the nose. b) Infant warmers
This is the heated beds are there on top of it, so baby can escape from hipotermiParents can touch the baby in the warmers, which certainly spoke first to the nurse. Function: to warm the baby with the desired temperature.
c) Incubator
This is a small bed covered by a transparent hard plastic, the temperature in theincubator set according to the condition of the baby. There is a hole on each side of the incubator as a way for nurses and doctors examine patients. Parents can touch her baby through the hole. Function: to care for premature babies with a low weight in a steady temperature and humidity d) The Infusion Line
A small flexible catheter that is inserted into the blood vessels are veins. Almost allbabies treated in the NICU for the needs of diinfus fluids and drugs, usually in thearms or legs. Function: to set the amount of fluid infusion which is inserted into the
the circulation of the blood flow of the patients directly through the vein e) Monitor
The baby is in the NICU is connected to the monitor so the NICU staff will always know their vital signs. In one monitor can be recorded some vital signs, includingpulse, breathing, blood pressure, temperature and SpO2 (oxygen content in the blood). Functions: to monitor the patient's vital sign in the form of a heartbeat, pulse, blood pressure, temperature, pulse form the heart directlyshots. f) Blue Light Therapy
Light therapy used for babies who are bilirubinnya levels are higher than normal, usually used on top of a baby with a baby naked and her eyes closed with a specialeye protection, length of therapy depends on the light levels of bilirubin, usuallyexamined after 24 hours of usage. Function : for babies that her bilirubin levels are higher than normal.
g) Bubble AP
Tools to breathe by using small kanul into baby's nostrils, it is typically used for infantswho often forget to breath (apnoe). Function: help your breath by using small canul into the baby's nostril
h) Ventilator
The breath machine used for babies who have a heavy breath disorders, it is using thesmall hose through the nose or mouth until to the lung. Function: Tools to control, respiratory assist lung function or take over patients
B. PICU 1. Vital Sign Monitor
Fungsi : Vital sign monitor digunakan untuk memonitor beberapa parameter kesehatan pasien yang membutuhkan continuously monitoring atau round the clock monitoring. Function: Vital sign monitors are used to monitor health parameters of patients who require continuously monitoring or round the clock monitoring 2. Ventilator
Fungsi :alat bantu pernafasan untuk mengontrol, membantu atau mengambil alih fungsi paru pasien Function: respirator to control, assist or take over the function of the lungs of patients
3. Infant Incubator
Fungsi :digunakan untuk merawat bayi premature dengan berat badan rendah dalam temperature dan kelembapan yang stabil Function: is used to treat premature infants with low birth weight in a stable temperature and humidity 4. Photo Therapy
Fungsi :digunakan untuk therapy pada bayi kuning Function: used for therapy in infants yellow
5. Infusion pump
Fungsi :digunakan untuk mengatur jumlah cairan infus yang dimasukkan kedalam sirkulasi aliran darah pasien secara langsung melalui vena Function: is used to regulate the amount of fluid infusion that is inserted into the patient's circulating blood stream directly through a vein 6. Syringe Pump
Fungsi :digunakanuntukmengaturjumlahinjeksiatauobatdalam syringe yang akandiberikankepadapasien Function: is used to set the number of injections or drugs in a syringe which will be given to the patient
C. ICCU 1. DC Shock
Cardioversion is a synchronized istration of shock during the R waves or QRS complex of a cardiac cycle.
2. Syringe driver
A syringe driver or syringe pump is a small infusion pump (some include infuse and withdraw capability), used to gradually ister small amounts of fluid (with or without medication) to a patient or for use in chemical and biomedical research.
3. Sphygmomanometer
A sphygmomanometer is a medical instrument used to measure arterial blood pressure. A sphygmomanometer consists of a pump, dial, cuff and a valve.
4. The Ventilator
A ventilator uses pressure to blow air or a mixture of gases (like oxygen and air) into the lungs.
5. ECG
ECG (Electro Cardio Graph). Biolistrik signal used to detect heart and produce recordings in the form of a graph on a recording paper so that it can in the diagnosis of abnormalities in the heart.
6. Bedside Monitor
The patient has different types of sensing devices attached to their body, (e.g. ECG dots or oxygen saturation probe ) which are connected to the monitor by wires (called leads). The sensing devices send electronic signals through the leads to the monitor, which then displays the signals. The monitor has alarms, which can signal to the staff if a body function needs attention, however sometimes patient movement alone can cause the alarms to go off.
