Aries Sign in 8th house The SUN will be exalted in the eighth house. It is the owner of the twelfth house that represents a temple. As the Sun is a karaka for it this position means the individual may be interested in occult religious practices done in a temple. The elder sibling takes up a job in government and he rises to a high position in it. The younger sibling of the individual could get injured by fire. The Sun in Aswini will make the individual interested in occult practices. The Sun in Bharani will represent the father of the individual. The placement of the Sun in the eighth house will cause some trouble to him. As the Sun is exalted the trouble could be limited and could be caused by his fiery temper: The Sun may also represent eye of the individual in this constellation. When it is under adverse influence the individual may develop eye trouble. The aspect of the Sun on the second house will be debilitated. The Sun will not help the individual financially. Garga states that the individual will have a peaceful end. The Sun in with the Moon will give an eminent elder sister. The Sun in with Mars may cause death of the younger sibling by fire or weapon. The Sun in with Mercury shows that the individual will face financial trouble through the government. He may hold a high position. He may be given much honour after his death. Mercury owns the ascendant. Hence the Sun in with Mercury will represent the person of the individual. He may be a cruel person. The Sun in with Jupiter will represent the heart of the individual since Jupiter is the owner of the fourth house and the Sun is the karaka for it. The individual may die of heart malfunction. The Sun in with Saturn shows that the longevity of the individual will be inadequate. The Sun in with Rahu may give health problems to the individual that are difficult to diagnose. The individual may suffer from drug reaction, misuse of intoxicating and hallucinatory drugs and use of poison. He will also be prone to serpent bite. These could be fatal. The MOON will relate the eleventh house to the eighth. It is a karaka for mother and mind of the individual. It also signifies home. Its location in a trik house will therefore not be good. The mother of the individual or his elder sibling may meet with a water accident. The individual will be restless, will have flashes of anger, and he may have short attention span. The eighth house representing death has the owner of the eleventh house of elder sibling. If Saturn is involved in this combination death of the sibling is possible. When Jupiter is involved there is likelihood of the individual gaining through legacy or insurance. He may get a
lottery. The Moon in eighth is an indication that there may be balarishta according to Jyotish Makarand. The second house stands for eye and the Moon is the karaka for it. Hence the aspect of the Moon on the second house will act on the eye of the individual. There may be injury to the eye. The Moon in with Saturn may cause trouble in the eye. The eighth house is second fiom the seventh house. It therefore stands for the face and eye of the spouse of the individual. The Moon in a sign of Mars will give a fair and pink complexion to the spouse. The eighth is the fourth house from the fifth and therefore represents home to the eldest child of the individual. As both the Moon and An'es are highly movable, there may be many changes and shiftings for the eldest child. The Moon in Aswini will give psychic powers to the individual. The Moon in Bharani will give an imaginative and artistic mother. MARS will be in its own moo/tn'kona sign in the eighth house. It will be strong and according to Bhrigu it will confer good longevity. It will be an agent for killings and destruction as both the planet and house stand for these. A planet in the eighth house shows the nature and cause of death of the individual. Mars in the eighth will cause death by weapons. Jyotish Makarand says that the individual may die in war. Such persons die on operation table. Garga expects death by fire. Mars is very strong representative of younger siblings as it is a karaka for them and it owns the third house. When Mars has adverse influence of a naturally malefic planet the younger siblings will suffer. Mars is also karaka for property. The individual may have trouble or worry on this score. Mars projects a debilitated aspect to the eleventh house creating possibility of injury to the elder sibling. It may kill the elder siblings when it is in with Saturn. In with Jupiter it will represent property as Jupiter owns the fourth house and Mars is the karaka for it. Its aspect to the eleventh house will occasion gain of property though of average significance as line aspect will be of debilitated nature. Mars in Bhrigu will give good looking spouse. Mars in Krittika may raise the status of the family of the spouse. Mars in with Mercury will give a sharp tongue to the spouse. This is also not good for the maternal uncle of the individual. Mars in Aries between 0° and 3°20’ will give gains to the elder sibling through his profession. Mars in the sign between 3°20’ and 16°40' will place the elder sibling in the armed forces. Mercury in the sign between 16°40’ and 30° may induce the individual to write. MERCURY will be in a neutral sign. It is a naturally beneficial planet therefore it will try to promote the affairs of the house but it is in an adverse house therefore its karakatwa and the affairs of the houses that it owns will face
setback. Bhrigu therefore says that the individual will have good longevity but Mercury is not strong here hence the addition to longevity will be marginal. Mercury owns the ascendant. It will the ascendant to the house of death. It may cause trouble for the individual. It is also the owner of the tenth house of profession. There will be breaks in the career of the individual and he may face setbacks and disappointments in his profession. Lalkitab says that the individual will suddenly face setbacks in his profession and he may suffer from nervous disorder: We know that the eighth house stands for unexpected events. Mercury stands for profession. Hence unexpected developments in profession are likely. Mercury placed in the second house of spouse will give her unpleasant speech. Mercury is the karaka for maternal uncle. This is an unsatisfactory location for Mercury. The maternal uncle will face unsatisfactory time. Mercury in with Saturn will cause death of maternal uncle. Saturn owns the sixth house. Mercury in the context of the sixth house will denote maternal uncle and Saturn in the context of the eighth house will denote death. Mercury is the karaka for speech. Its aspect in the context of the second will denote speech. As the house has a sign of Venus, the individual will have pleasant speech. He may have musical talent too. Mercury in the sign between 0° and 6°40’ may give him interest in writing. The individual may get wealth through intellectual work or education when Mercury is placed in the sign between 20° and 30°. JUPITER will be in a friendly sign in the eighth house. It will improve the longevity of the individual but Bhrigu says that the longevity will depend on the strength of Mars in the chart. Jupiter is a karaka for knowledge and the eighth house is a place for occult knowledge. Hence Jupiter will give occult and tantric knowledge. Jupiter, being a karaka for children, when placed in an adverse house, it will give some worry relating to children. It is a karaka for income too. Placed in a house of death Jupiter will let the individual earn through matters relating to death such as life insurance, wills, legacies etc. It owns the fourth house and therefore represents happiness. The aspect of Jupiter to its own fourth house will promote the affairs of the house. The individual will enjoy learning and unearthing unknown knowledge. When it is in with the Moon it will represent mother of the individual too. She may travel and may have sharp intellect. She may also face trouble suddenly. Jupiter in the context of the second house will represent wealth. The house has a sign inimical to Jupiter, but when Jupiter occupies Aries between 0° and 6°40' or between 20° and 30° its aspect to the second house will go to spans of the house that have constellations friendly to it. Therefore Jupiter will produce much better results relating to wealth in such positions. Jupiter projects friendly aspect to the twelfth house. This is the reason
why Bhattanarayan in Chamatkar Chintamani says that the individual will attain heaven after death. VENUS will be in a neutral place in the eighth house. The owner of the ninth house in the eighth is not good for the longevity of the father of the individual. Venus is the karaka for spouse. Placed in the eighth house it may create trouble for the spouse or in marriage of the individual. His romance may fail. He may develop trouble in his kidney that may cause his death. Venus in Aswini may allow some religious fervor to develop. Venus in Krittika would promote high libido. Saravali also is of the opinion that Venus will give much sex urge. The individual may have an uncontrollable desire to have liaison with several women. Venus projects an aspect to its own second house. This will be good for the welfare and comforts of the family. When Jupiter is involved or Venus occupies the sign Aries between 20° and 23°20’ it will give good wealth. Lalkitab states that the wife of the individual will expect to be obeyed. If the individual makes her unhappy it will rebound on him in the form of misfortune. This is a good position for the eldest d1ild of the individual who will have a good career. The elder sibling of the individual will have a beautiful and well appointed home. The elder sibling of the individual will have a beautiful and well appointed home. sentiments and he will not be swayed by emotions when Saturn is in with the Moon or placed in Aries between 10° and 13°20'. When it is in with Mercury it will deny learning. He will also be a poor speaker and he may even suffer from speech handicap. In with Jupiter it will
cause loss of children but it will give wealth. The individual will not have any creative talent. He may meet his end due to complications arising out of a romantic involvement when Saturn is in with Venus. He will be devoid of tact when it is in with Rahu. He will sneer at religious fervor and devotion to the deity when Ketu is in with Saturn. RAHU will be in an inimical sign in me eighth house. Being a naturally malefic planet it will damage the affairs of the house. The house represents longevity of the individual. The individual may not be long lived. Abdur Rahim Khankhana in Khet Kautukam says that the individual will be a criminal. He may be rash and quarrelsome. Rahu in a sign of Mars in a house that represents crime, conspiracy, and serious trouble should cause involvement of the individual in criminal undercover activities that may land him in serious trouble in an unexpected and sudden manner. Rahu placed in the sign between 16°40' and 20° will be bad for the individual. He will have no interest in religion. Rahu in Aswini will be worse as it is inimical to Ketu. He may search for occult means to harm his detractors. Rahu in Bharani or in with Venus will give sexual perversion and crimes relating to sex. The individual may go abroad and may meet with his end there. The mother of the individual may have clandestine love relations that may bring her a bad name. Rahu in with the Sun or in Krittika will be dangerous for the physical well being of the father of the individual. Rahu in with Mercury may cause illness and trouble for the individual. Rahu in with Jupiter may cause unhappiness to the mother of the individual from her children. It will be an agent for untreatable diseases when it is in with Saturn. KETU will be in a friendly sign in the eighth house but it is also a naturally malefic planet therefore its presence in the eighth house will not be good. It will tend to harm the longevity of the individual. It is a karaka for the occult, psychic powers and mediumship. The eighth house is also one for these matters. Ketu in the context of the eighth house will represent these matters. In with the Moon Ketu here will give the individual such faculties. Ketu being a psychic planet placed in the eighth house of death may give the individual ability to sense his impending end. Lalkitab s this statement. Ketu in with Venus will make the mother of the individual very devotional. Ketu in Krittika will also give good spiritual unfoldment. Ketu in with Saturn will be a killer. If it comes in with the ascendant the individual may away in ii: period or in the period of a planet that is in with Ketu.
Taurus Sign in 8th house The SUN will be in an inimical sign in the eighth house. The Sun is the physical body of the individual and Venus represents sensuality and pleasure. The individual will look for means of pleasure and sex. He may seek them at places that may be considered disreputable. The individual will have an attractive physical appearance. His wife may face danger from fire as the Sun stands for fire and Venus is the karaka for wife. This in the context of the eighth house of death would indicate such a conclusion. He may have a clandestine romance with a highly placed woman. In the context of the second house to which it projects an aspect it will stand for the eye. The individual may have some trouble relating to the eye. The Sun placed in the sign between 0° The SUN will be in an inimical sign in the eighth house. The Sun placed in the sign between 0° The MOON will be exalted in Taurus. It owns the tenth house from the ascendant. The individual may take to shipping career. The waxing Moon is a naturally beneficial planet and its presence in the eighth house will help promote the longevity of the individual. The exalted Moon will also promote the career of the individual though its presence in the eighth house may cause some setbacks too in the profession. However, waning Moon will be a naturally malefic planet and it will act in a manner almost reverse of what the waxing Moon will do. Still, the exaltation of the Moon will be a saving grace and some benefit may still accrue to the individual. The Moon in a sign of Venus in a house of secrecy may give the individual a sexual relationship that is kept under wraps. The eighth house represents anguish. The Moon is the karaka for mental state. Hence the presence of the Moon in this house may keep the individual mentally perturbed. When the Moon is good and is able to withstand the effect of the house, the mental state may not be adverse but if the Moon is weak, and is under influence of a naturally malefic planet or the dispositor of the Moon is weak or badly placed the individual will be highly disturbed all the time. On the same
analogy the mother of the individual may also not have a happy existence. The waxing Moon in Krittika will improve the status of the individual. Waning Moon in Krittika may cause trouble through the government. The Moon may give better results when it is in Rohini. The Moon in Mrigshira will give results relating to the spouse of the individual as well as Mars owns the seventh house and the Moon is in a sign of Venus. The individual may marry a person connected with his profession. The spouse will be good looking, fun loving, and active. There may be some unhappiness in marriage when the Moon is waning. We have discussed balarishta above so fresh analysis on it is not being taken up here. Gunakar says that the Moon may cause drowning. The Moon will project a debilitated aspect to the second house. The Moon placed in Taurus between 0°and 3°20' will be inclined to give wealth through profession. When it occupies the sign between 3°20’ and 16°40’ it may cause distress in the family. It may make the speech of the individual friendly when the Moon occupies Taurus between 16°40’ and 30°. The individual may travel over watenNays when the Moon is in with Jupiter. MARS will be in a neutral sign in the eighth house. It will be an agent for fatal accident and serious injury in the context of the eighth house. It is the owner of the seventh house and occupies a sign of Venus. Hence it will cause serious injury or fatal accident to the spouse. Garga says that it will be troublesome for the spouse. Taurus is a fixed sign and Mars is a stubborn planet. Its fixity of purpose will be enhanced according to Alan Leo. Fatality will occur when Saturn is in with Mars. This is not a good position for younger siblings. The individual may not be happy with property matters. Mars in with Mercury will give harsh speech. Saravali says that the individual will speak harshly and he will bring bad name to his family. Mars in with Jupiter will give wealth as it projects aspect to the eleventh house and to its own second house too. Jyotish Makarand says that the individual may get buried wealth. It will represent younger siblings as Jupiter owns the third house and Mars in the context of that house will represent younger siblings. Hence younger siblings may not remain happy in life. The individual will be bold when Mars occupies Taurus between 26°40’ and 30°. It will represent vehicles and romance respectively when in with Saturn. The reason is Saturn owns the fourth and fifth houses and Mars occupies a sign of Venus that is the karaka for vehicles and romance in the context of these two houses. The individual may have trouble with regard to his vehicles and there maybe break in romance. Mars in with Rahu will be still more adverse. It may bring disrepute to the individual and his family for his indiscriminate romantic affiliations.
MERCURY will be in a friendly sign in the eighth house. It should help the longevity of the individual as it is a naturally beneficial planet in a friendly sign. Garga says that the end of the individual will be peaceful. Longevity may get curtailed when Mercury is with Saturn. Mercury owns the twelfth house of loss and in with Saturn it will represent loss of longevity. Mercury will project aspect to the second house of wealth. That is perhaps why Jatakabharnam says that the individual will be of expensive habits. Kashyap says that the individual will suffer from ailment in his mouth. Mercury in Krittika may cause the father to be badly placed in life, or he may not be well disposed to the individual. The reason is that Mercury owns the ninth house and in Krittika it will represent father as the Sun is the karaka for father. Placed in the eighth house which is the twelfth from the ninth it will affect father adversely. The individual may have to change his jobs frequently, particularly when Mercury is in with Saturn, when Mercury occupies Rohini. The Moon owns Rohini and it is the owner of the tenth house of profession. Mars owns me second house. Mercury in the context of Mrigshira will represent speech. It may improve the speech of the individual. Mars also owns the seventh house. Mercury placed in Taurus in the context of Mrigshira will represent spouse. It has the tendency of multiplying aspects of life that it influences. Hence there may be more than one spouse or long term relations. Mercury will be placed in an uncongenial constellation in Mrigshira. In the context of the seventh house owned by Mars, Mercury will represent business. It may experience setbacks. Mercury in with Jupiter will represent writing and communication. The individual may write on archaeology or precious minerals. In the context of the ninth house Mercury in with Jupiter will represent good fortune. In the eighth house it will be adversely affected. In the context of the ninth house Mercury in with Rahu will represent journey abroad. Placed in a house of secrecy and death, the individual may travel abroad in this connection or his death may happen while on a journey abroad. Ketu in the context of the eighth house stands for psychic phenomenon. The individual may give discourses on such phenomenon when Mercury is in with Ketu. Mercury placed in the sign between 0° and 3°20’ will give unearned wealth suddenly. JUPITER will be in an inimical sign in Taurus. It stands for wealth, income, happiness, children, creativity, husband, good forlune, religion, success, and elder siblings in a chart. Its placement in an inimical sign in the eighth house will tend to create deficiency in some or all of these matters. Here Jupiter projects aspect to the second house of wealth. Hence wealth will be prominent on of this location of Jupiter. It projects aspect to the fourth house when in
the context of the house it represents happiness. The aspect is debilitated. Hence happiness may not be in surfeit in his life. Vriddhayavan Jataka of Minaraja says that the individual will remain troubled. The house has a sign of Saturn. In conjunction with the eighth house the conclusion would be that the individual will not generally be happy and would have tension and mental disquiet most of the time. Jupiter owns the third house. When it is in Mrigshira Jupiter will represent younger siblings. It will indicate unhappiness to younger siblings. The courage of the individual will be at a . His ventures may have snags. Jupiter owns the sixth house. In Mrigshira it will represent disputes, injuries, and damage. The younger siblings may face these, the family of the individual may suffer from these, and the individual may succumb to injuries. Jupiter projects friendly aspect to the second house hence it will help the individual in acquisition of wealth. Its own weakness may however put a ceiling on wealth. Jupiter in Rohini will indicate short journeys since it owns the third house. Its presence in the eighth house in an inimical sign will make these journeys troublesome and unproductive. This will also be adverse for the mother of the individual since she will not have much happiness in life. Jupiter in Krittika will represent heart of the individual as it projects aspect to the fourth house and the Sun is the karaka for heart. The individual may die of heart trouble. Jupiter projects aspect to the twelfth house which in the context of the Sun indicates temple. He may away in or near a temple. The occupation of the owner of the sixth house of eighth is unlikely in the present case to give good status though, as we have seen, it will give wealth. Jupiter in with Saturn will shorten longevity as it projects aspect to the twelfth house and in the context of Saturn it will also act as an agent for loss. According to Garga the end of the individual will be peaceful. VENUS will be in its own sign in the eighth house. It represents female genitals and prostate in men in the context of the eighth house. The organs will remain in good health as the owner of the house, being a naturally beneficial planet, occupies it. The house represents sinful acts. Venus, as representative of sex, in the context of the house may give rise to sinful sexual activity when it is in with Rahu. The human sexuality is expressed by the eighth house. It shows sexual attraction. Venus is the karaka for it. Hence strong Venus placed in the eighth house will heighten sexual attraction in the individual. He will be very attractive to the opposite sex. The second house represents the face and wealth of the spouse of the individual. She will be beautiful and strong second house for her shows that she would be from a wealthy family. Venus is the owner of the ascendant for the individual. It is a naturally beneficial planet. It will therefore
add to the longevity of the individual. Bhn‘gu is of the view that longevity will be reduced if a naturally malefic planet influences Venus in the eighth house. Kashyap however states that the individual will die after much discomfort and pain. The mother of the individual will be happy with her children. The eldest child of the individual will live in luxurious style. Garga has stated that the individual will die at a holy place. He has also said that Venus in a fixed sign will give constant trouble. This may happen when Venus has influence of a naturally maleflc planet. Venus in Krittika or Mrigshira may not be free from this inclination of its. Venus in Mrigshira will also represent the wife or women in the life of the individual. The aspect of Venus on the second house from the ascendant will impart handsome appearance to the individual. This aspect will however be indifferent. Venus placed in the sign between 0° and 3°20' will be good for the prosperity of the individual. It will give pleasant speech when it occupies Taurus between 16°40’ and 30°. SATURN will be in a friendly sign in the eighth house. It is the karaka for longevity and death and in the context of the eighth house it will be an agent for these. Saturn in the eighth house generally improves longevity. Bhrigu says that the individual will have a life span of 75 years. This may not apply to Saturn in each sign but Bhrigu has also said that if Venus is debilitated or it occupies an inimical sign the individual will be short lived. Bhavartha Ratnakar has stated that Saturn in the eighth house will give long life, but if Venus (owner of the eighth house) is in the ascendant with Ketu, longevity will be severely curtailed. It will turn into a very strong maraka when it is placed in Mrigshira or it is in with Mars. This will be so as it will be related to the second and seventh houses too. Leo is the badhak house for Libra ascendant. Saturn in Krittika therefore will also be dangerous. Saturn will represent profession of the individual when it is in Rohini or is in with the Moon. It is likely to give unexpected setbacks in profession to the individual once in a while. Saturn placed in the sign Taurus between 16°40’ and 30° will cause sudden changes or loss in or of profession. In such a situation there may also be legal trouble to the individual. Vriddhayavan Jataka of Minaraja has said that the individual will not be prosperous and he will be attracted to mature women. Saturn owns the fifth house and it occupies a sign of Venus. Hence due to its karakatwa it will cause romance to sprout up with women of mature ages. Saturn in Taurus between 6°40' and 20° will aggravate it. It is a karaka for loss and constriction. Hence its aspect to the second house of accumulation will place restrictions on it and therefore would restrict finances of the individual when it occupies Taurus between 0° and 3°20’ or it is in with Jupiter
RAHU will be exalted in Taurus. Both Bhrigu and Phaldeepika are of the opinion that Rahu will have an adverse effect on the longevity of the individual. Bhrigu also says that the individual will be of poor conduct and he may indulge in reprehensible acts. The eighth house is one of dark recesses of nature. Rahu amplifies the nature of the sign and its owner. Venus is a planet that caters to the ions and material urges of human mind. Taurus is an earth sign. Hence Taurus is far more material than Libra, the other sign of Venus. Rahu will impart worldly and acquisitive tendency to the material propensity of Venus. The individual will therefore look for pleasure and luxurious life and he may even waste his wealth over it. Jataka Ratna Pradeep states that the individual will suffer from venereal disease and he will be a spendthrift. Rahu under adverse influence of a naturally malefic planet may involve the individual in crimes relating to insurance, legacies, or wills. Rahu in with Saturn may cause untreatable illness that may be the cause of death of the individual. The individual will be a capable researcher. Rahu in Krittika will use authority of the Sun for furtherance of material prosperity. This is bad for the welfare of the father of the individual. Rahu in Rohini will cause journeys overseas. The mind will be gross and there will be craving for sense pleasure. Rahu in Mrigshira may justify violence to achieve worldly success. Sex will play a dominant role in the life of the individual. The individual may die in mysterious circumstances. KETU will be debilitated in the eighth house and will be detrimental to the longevity of the individual. In a sign of Venus Ketu in the eighth house may give perverted sexual urge. It is a planet that evokes psychical tendencies. Under the effect of Venus in the eighth house it will cause inclination to left handed Tantrik practices using alcohol, sex, and flesh. Garga is of the view that Ketu may confer wealth but it seems that the individual may never be able to get unearned wealth. Vn'ddhayavan Jataka of Minaraja is also in agreement with this. Ketu in Rohini will give a profession that deals with the occult. Most of the classical writer have associated rectal trouble or trouble in the colon with Ketu in the eighth house. The individual may die in a coma. Gemini Sign in 8th house The SUN will be in a neutral sign. This is not a good position for the longevity of the individual and when the Sun occupies Gemini between 0° and 3°20’ it would be even more adverse in this regard. The individual is likely to be interested in occult and mystical subjects. Saravali says that the individual will be scholarly and he will have good knowledge of religious literature. This will
be prominent when the Sun is in with Ketu. The Sun owns the tenth house. As this house represents status and the Sun is the karaka for it, the presence of the Sun in the eighth house indicates a possibility of setback in status. The Sun in Mrigshira will also represent physical body of the individual as Mars owns the ascendant and the sixth house. Mars is therefore a karaka for injury. The Sun may cause injury to the individual. The Sun in Ardra will give eminence to the individual in the field of research but if it has influence of a naturally malefic planet it may also cause disrepute. The Sun in Punarvasu will represent eye and stomach of the individual. In with Saturn it may cause severe trouble in either of these parts of the body. The Sun in with the Moon will represent father of the individual and this could prove to be troublesome to him. The Sun in with Venus will be dangerous to the longevity of the individual. The aspect of the Sun on the second house will indicate wealth through his profession. The Sun in the sign between 13°20' and 26°40' and in with Saturn will cause much expenditure over his profession. The Sun in with Saturn also indicates that his profession may be related to death or the dead. As Gemini is an intellectual sign, he may be a hagiographer, an author on the occult, or a professor of history. In Punarvasu he may be an expert on insurance or legacies. The MOON relates the ninth house to the eighth. Garga says that the individual may be wicked and may not be satisfactorily sexually potent. The Moon in Mrigshira would be inclined to cause enmity arising out of research work. Bhrigu is of the view that waning Moon will not be good for the longevity of the individual. The ninth represents father, journey abroad, religion, law, philosophy, and good fortune for the individual. As the eighth house is considered a trik one, some of the indications of the ninth house may not do well. The Sun in with the Moon will stand for the father of the individual. The father may not live long or he may lead an unsatisfactory life. The Moon in with Jupiter or in Punarvasu will represent religion and good fortune of the individual. There may be lack of interest in religion and the individual may not be fortunate. He may get wealth through an insurance or legacy. Gemini is an airy sign hence the individual may be deeply interested in intellectual analysis of unknown phenomenon. He may be of a secretive nature. The Moon in with Saturn will represent law. The individual may face trouble through it when Mercury is weak or the house has influence of a naturally malefic planet. Old written documents may be cause of his legal trouble. The presence in the eight: house of the Moon may not be good for the health of the mother of the individual. The Moon in the sign between 13°20' and 26°40’ will restrict finances and raise
expenditure. The Moon in with Rahu or in Ardra will indicate journey abroad or air journeys. Bhattanarayan in Chamahkar Chintamani is of the view that the individual will not keep good health and he will suffer at the hands of his enemies. MARS will be in an inimical sign. Such placement of a naturally malefic planet will tend to be adverse for the longevity of the individual. Bhrigu says that the individual will be long lived only if Mars is associated with a naturally beneficial planet. The cause of his death could be surgery, injury, or violence. Mars is placed in Gemini in Chart IX-3. It is in Ardra constellation of Rahu there. The individual was killed at a very young age. Association of Mercury, a naturally beneficial planet, with Mars did not help. Mars is the karaka for younger siblings. Therefore they will also face trouble in life. The individual may face trouble on of or caused by his younger siblings. Mars represents property. The individual may strive to acquire property unsuccessfully. The eldest child of the individual may have a tense domestic life and he may face trouble on of his property. His technical education may not be satisfactory. Mars owns the sixth house and it is therefore a karaka for dispute, litigation, injury, and surgery. The individual may die of an injury. Brihat Parashar Hora Shastra says that the individual may be sickly and inimical. Mars will project an inimical aspect to the eleventh house causing trouble relating to the affairs of the house. The individual may get involved in litigation over wealth. Mars placed in the sign between 26°40’ and 30° may cause injury to the eye of the individual through a flying object. MERCURY will be in its own sign in the eighth house. Being a naturally beneficial planet it will improve the affairs of the house. The individual may benefit by improvement in his longevity. Mercury in with Saturn will improve it even further. He may have a peaceful end at the close of longevity. Both Jatakabhamam and Abdur Rahim Khankhana in Khet Kautukam state that the individual will get wealth from government. Mercury is the karaka for speech. It will represent speech in this position as it will project aspect to the second house. Its aspect to the house when it occupies the sign between 0° and 13°20’ may create some abnormality in speech. Mercury placed in the sign between 13°20’ and 26°40’ may give pleasant speech. It may be impressive when Mercury occupies the sign between 26°40' and 30°. The mother of the individual may be learned. The elder sibling of the individual may work in an academic institution or he may be related to press or communication sector. The individual may come from a business family. Vriddhayavan Jataka of Minaraja
s this statement. He may have the ability to study a subject in depth. Varah Mihir in Brihajjatakam says that the individual will be qualified and well known when Mercury occupies the eighth house. JUPITER will be in an inimical sign in the eighth house. It owns the second and fifth houses. In the context of second house Jupiter stands for wealth. In the context of the fifth it stands for d1i|dren, creativity, and intelligence. Jupiter in an adverse and inimical house may impact badly on matters relating to children, intelligence, and creativity. It will not show adverse results relating to wealth as it will project aspect to its own second house and therefore protect affairs of the house. The individual should be wealthy. He may have a large family. He may not be a happy person as it will project aspect to the fourth house from the ascendant and in the context of that house it will represent happiness. The eighth is the second house from the seventh. Jupiter in the second from the seventh will therefore indicate wealth of the spouse. Jupiter here being in an inimical sign, will cause trouble relating to wealth to the spouse. This is the fifth house from the fourth. Jupiter therefore will represent children of the mother. She may not be happy with them. This could perhaps be the reason why Horasara says that the individual will be bad to his mother in the period of Jupiter. Jupiter in with Venus will cause an unhappy marriage for a female individual. Bhattanarayan in Chamatkar Chintamani states that the individual will separate from his father early. The eldest child of the individual may turn out to be an intellectual. VENUS will be in a friendly sign in Gemini. It should therefore be favourable for the longevity of the individual. Bhattanarayan in Chamatkar Chintamani agrees. Venus owns the seventh house and therefore represents sex and marriage for the individual. Venus owns the twelfth house also. This is the house in the context of Venus, of satisfaction of sexual desires. In the eighth house it will stand for secret sexual encounters. As Gemini represents multiplicity, the individual is likely to have several such experiences. Secret sexual organs are represented by the eighth house and Venus. If Venus has influence of a naturally malefic planet the individual may have trouble in these organs. The eighth house is one of death. Saturn is the karaka for it. In the context of the karaka this house will represent death of the spouse. Venus in Mrigshira will stand for a troublesome spouse who will cause much unhappiness. Venus will represent kidneys as it is the karaka for kidneys and Mars owns the sixth house. Its position may cause trouble in that organ of the individual. Venus in Ardra will tend to cause unrestrained sexual escapades. Venus in Punarvasu will give rise to
romances. Venus in with Ketu may cause unnatural sexual appetite to appear. Venus is the karaka for aesthetic sense, art and entertainment, music and dance, vehicles, and throat. The adverse location of Venus may cause some trouble or unhappiness with respect to some of these aspects of life. This position may cause break in romance. He may carry out in depth study in any one field. Venus in the sign between 13°20’ and 26°40’ may give wealth in the form of gems and jewellery. Vniddhayavan Jataka of Minaraja states that the individual will be interested in intellectual discussions and pursuit of knowledge. SATURN in Gemini will be in a friendly sign. Saturn is a karaka for longevity and its presence in the eighth house is said to add to longevity of the individual. Therefore, though Saturn is a naturally malefic planet its occupation of the eighth house will be favourable in this regard. There is no doubt that it will also be a strong karaka for death and its relationship with the ascendant will see death of the individual in its period or in the period of a planet related to it. In a chart with Scorpio ascendant, it will own the fourth house. It may be bad for the physical well being of the mother of the individual when it occupies Mrigshira. It will then also be dangerous for the well being of the individual. It owns the third house. Mars is the karaka for younger siblings. Saturn in Mrigshira will therefore also represent younger siblings. Any adverse influence on Saturn may tend to harm the younger siblings. Saturn will project aspect to the fifth house. It will be dangerous for the children of the individual especially when it is in Punarvasu. Saturn owning the fourth house in a sign of Mercury will represent academic pursuits. The individual may study and write. Horasara states that the individual will be in service during the period of Saturn. The aspect of Saturn on the tenth house will be inimical. The individual may face trouble from the government. Vriddhayavan Jataka of Minaraja states that the individual will have high libido. RAHU will be in a friendly sign but its location in the eighth house is not considered good. Jeevanath states that the individual will have unstable wealth. It may come and go. It may harm the longevity of the individual. It will give difficult to diagnose ailments. The individual will be secretive and he will carry on clandestine correspondence. He may be interested in unearthing little known facts. In Mrigshira it will give lhe individual a tendency to manipulate and defraud others. In Punarvasu it may source wealth through illegal and unethical means. Rahu in the context of the eighth house may represent rectum and colon. The individual will be prone to trouble in these organs of the body. Rahu will also represent vice and filth. In a sign of Mercury it will indicate the tendency of
the individual to write and publish scurrilous or pornographic literature. KETU in an inimical sign of Mercury will give confused faculty of communication. He will not be able to make decisions. A naturally malefic planet in an inimical sign will give poor longevity. The individual may suffer from skin bouble. Bhatlanarayan in Chamatkar Chintamani says that the individual may suffer from piles, fistula or similar other ailments. Jeevanath says that the individual may gain through government when Ketu is in Gemini in the eighth house. Mansagari s this statement to the extent that the individual will always gain when Ketu is so placed. The gain may not be from the government. It may give violent death in Mrigshira. In Punarvasu it may develop some interest in the occult. It will be highly troublesome in Ardra. Cancer Sign in 8th house The SUN in Cancer will relate the ninth house to the eighth. The Sun here is a representative of the father of the individual since it owns the ninth house. Its occupation of the eighth will tend to act contrary to the welfare of the father. If the Sun is in with Saturn or it occupies Pusya it will cause death of father: In Punarvasu it will represent the physical body of the individual and his heart. It may not be particularly helpful to the individual financially. Varah Mihir in Brihajjatakam states that the individual will not be rich and he will earn his livelihood through hard work. The Sun is the owner of the ninth house. In with Jupiter or in Punarvasu it will represent the good fortune of the individual. Its placement in the eighth would tend to cause obstruction in free flow of fortune of the individual. This is the reason why Jyotish Makarand states that the Sun will cause obstructions in the affairs of the individual. As Jupiter in the context of the ninth house will also indicate religion, the individual may not be interested in it. In with Saturn the Sun will be capable of causing death of the individual by heart trouble. The Sun in Aslesa will represent the status, high position, and reputation of the individual. In with Saturn the Sun will tend to cause fall from high position, and may cast a slur on the reputation of the individual. Garga has made an important statement with regard to the Sun in the eighth house. He has stated that the Sun under influence of a naturally malefic planet will give painful death. Lalkitab states that when the Sun does not have adverse influence in the eighth house the individual will not have the painful experience of seeing a loved relation ing away. He may have some trouble with his eyesight.
The MOON will be in its own sign in the eighth house and would tend to strengthen the affairs of the house. This is a watery house having a watery sign and a watery planet occupying it. When the Moon is placed in Pusya or it is related to Saturn, it will represent death and with such a strong watery element present the individual is likely to die by water. The Moon in with Saturn will represent the profession of the elder sibling of the individual. He may do well at a maritime vocation. This is an occult house having a watery planet. The Moon here will tend to involve the mind of the individual in occult, psychic, and mediumistic activities. This is a house analogous to Scorpio in the natural zodiac. The Moon will therefore lose some of its strength. This may not be good for the longevity of the mother of the individual. This is also not good for his well being in his first year of life. If there is influence of naturally malefic planets on it, the individual may face balarishta. This is the house of wealth for the spouse of the individual. The Moon in Punarvasu will give the individual a wealthy wife. The Moon in Punarvasu will keep the eldest child of the individual happy and contented in his life. The Moon in with Mars may not be good for the longevity of the individual. It may also give a volatile temper. The Moon in with Mercury will make the spouse soft spoken. She will be very good looking when the Moon is in with Venus. MARS will be debilitated in the eighth house. It may cause injury to the eye of the individual. In Punarvasu it will create trouble for the children of the individual. Jupiter owns the fourth house. In the context of the fourth house Mars will represent property. Its debilitation will give rise to much worry and trouble relating to property. In Pusya it will reduce his longevity and death may be by water, weapon, or poison. Bhaskaracharya in Bhaskar Deep Chandn‘ka s this statement. It may end marital bond early. The elder sibling of the individual may a fire fighting unit. Mars will project aspect to the third house from the ascendant. In the context of the third house it will represent younger siblings. Its placement in the eighth house and debilitation there will not be good for the younger siblings. They may not prosper, and they may suffer from indifferent health. Mars in with Mercury will give a spouse with sharp tongue. The business of the individual will cause unending complications. As Mercury owns the tenth house Mars in the eighth may indicate a job for the individual involving undercover or anti-terrorist acts. Mars in with Venus will cause death due to kidney trouble. MERCURY will be in an inimical sign in the eighth house. It will not be able to contribute to the longevity of the individual though it is a naturally beneficial
planet. Mercury owns the seventh house. When it is in with Venus it will represent marriage and spouse. The individual may not have a happy marriage though the spouse will be good looking. It will disturb marriage when it is in with Venus. As Mercury owns the seventh house from the ascendant in the context of the seventh house it will indicate business. The bad placement of Mercury in the eighth house will show serious setback in business and failure in the enterprise. Mercury placed in Punarvasu will represent education of the individual in the context of the fourth house. When Mercury is badly placed the education of the individual will not show satisfactory progress. Mercury in Pusya in the context of the second house will show speech. It will suffer from some inadequacy. Mercury in Pusya in the context of the third house will show communication and writing. These too will play a negative role in the life of the individual. Mercury in with Venus will represent the maternal uncle of the individual. Venus owns the sixth house and Mercury is the karaka for maternal uncle. His relations with the maternal uncle may not be satisfactory and he may not derive any from him. Mercury placed in Aslesa between 26°40’ and 30° will be bad for his relations with his friends and acquaintances. Horasara states that his relations with his relatives will get strained in the period of Mercury. JUPITER will be exalted in the eighth house. It is the owner of the ascendant and is a naturally beneficial planet. Hence its occupation of the eighth house will go a long way in improving the longevity of the individual. Bhrigu agrees with this conclusion. Jupiter projects aspect to the second house and therefore acts as an agent for wealth but the aspect is debilitated one. It would not enhance the prospects of wealth appreciably. It strengthens its own fourth house by aspect and would therefore improve happiness and contentment of the individual. Jupiter in Pusya will also work as an agent for death. It can prove dangerous to the mother of the individual. Jupiter in with Venus will act as an agent for success and income. It will also enhance the professional prospects of the elder sibling. VENUS will be in an inimical sign in the eighth house. It owns the second house. Venus in Punarvasu will stand for income and wealth. These may not be substantial but they will accrue to the individual. He may even own a vehicle. Venus owns the eleventh house. It may give gain thr0ugh a legacy or lottery. When in Pusya it will cause ailments in sex organs. As it projects aspect to the second house, Venus in the context of the second house will represent the throat. The individual may suffer from trouble in his throat as well. Venus in Aslesa will
stand for marriage and sex. There would be unhappiness in these regards. Horasara says that the individual may have two wives during the period of Venus. There would be breaks in his romantic affiliations. Garga feels that the individual will help promote the prospects of his family. Venus projects a friendly aspect to the second hence the conclusion that Garga has mentioned. SATURN too will be in an inimical sign in the eighth house. Generally Saturn in the eighth house tends to improve the longevity but here it is in an inimical sign. Bhrigu says that such Saturn will not add to longevity. The owner of the second house in a sign of the Moon will represent the eye of the individual. It is in an inimical sign hence there could be eye trouble. The owner of the third house in a sign of the Moon will represent short journeys. The individual may have to undertake tedious short journeys that may not be productive for him. Saturn in Punarvasu could be dangerous for the longevity of the mother of the individual. This may not be good for his financial status and happiness from children. Bhrigu says that the individual will be poor and he will have intimacy with low class women. Saturn in Aslesa will stand for the profession of the individual. There may be setbacks and breaks in his profession. He may be a quiet person. The individual may face trouble from the government or his superior when Saturn occupies Cancer between 0° and 10°. Saturn projects aspect to the fifth house where its sign of debilitation is placed. When it occupies the sign between 0° and 13°20’ there would be adverse effect of or setback in his mantra recitation. Satum placed in the sign between 13°20' and 26°40’ will be detrimental to his romantic relations or his attempt at entertainment. He may suffer from trouble in his stomach when Saturn occupies the sign between 26°40' and 30°. RAHU will also be in an inimical sign in the eighth house. It may take the individual on long overseas journeys which may not be pleasant or productive. Rahu, being a naturally malefic planet, will not be helpful with regard to longevity of the individual. The mother of the individual will always remain worried on of her children. The eldest child of the individual may not have a peaceful domestic life. He may also fare poorly at school. Bhattanarayan in Chamatkar Chintamani says that the individual may be shunned by his family. Abdur Rahim Khankhana in Khet Kautukam states that the individual may not be a person of good conduct. Rahu and the eighth house represent sin. Rahu is in a sign of the Moon which represents the mind. Hence Khankhana has concluded that the conduct of the individual will not be good. Garga feels that the individual will die consequent to charge of theft against him.
KETU will be in a friendly sign. It is in a sign of mind. In the context of the eighth house it will represent psychic powers. The individual may be a sensitive. He would be able to get in with departed souls and entities of other worlds. The influence of Ketu on longevity will not be positive but it may not be as damaging as of Rahu here. Bhattanarayan in Chamatkar Chintamani says that the individual may fall from a vehicle or horse. Ketu is a planet without a head hence menial processes remain confused or indistinct under its influence. Ketu placed in Cancer will therefore cause weak mental capacity. The faculties that are independent of the mind, such as intuition, will be prominent. Leo Sign in 8th house The SUN will be in its own sign in the eighth house. The house would therefore be stronger. This is the house of longevity besides other significations. Hence the individual should expect to live long. The Sun becomes a strong significator for the heart of the eldest child of the individual as the eighth is the fourth house from the fifth and in the context of this house the Sun becomes an agent for his heart. The influence of a naturally malefic planet on the Sun will cause trouble relating to heart in the eldest child. The elder sibling of the individual may have a high position. The Sun in Poorva Phalguni will be an agent for high position or eminence in society. This will be so as Venus owns the fifth and tenth houses and the Sun in the context of the tenth house will improve the status of the individual. Jyotish Makarand says that the individual will be respected in society. In Chart IX-S the Sun occupies the eighth house in Leo and it is placed in Poorva Phalguni constellation. This person became Queen of Egypt after her marriage. She suffered much humiliation after her marriage as Saturn is in Uttar Phalguni constellation of the Sun and the latter is in the eighth house. The eighth is a house of humiliation and defeat. The eighth house is also a place of secrecy and journey overseas. Venus represents women and the Sun is the significator of physical body. Therefore the Sun in Poorva Phalguni may indicate secret physical with women. Bhattanarayan in Chamatkar Chintamani therefore states that the individual may get involved with women abroad. The Sun will also represent the stomach of the individual as Venus owns the fifth house too. The Sun projects aspect to the second house having a sign of Saturn. This will be inimical sign and would disturb the affairs of the house. Hence the individual may not be able to accumulate wealth and his family may face trouble. The MOON will be in a friendly sign in the eighth house. It owns the seventh house and thus sets up relationship between the seventh and eighth. It is a
naturally beneficial planet unless it is waning. It will therefore promote the longevity of the individual. This is a balarishta position for the Moon. We have already discussed this in some detail above. The Moon in Magha shows an interest in the unknown and occult. The individual may have interest in mantra recitation when the Moon in Magha constellation occupies the sign between 3°20' and 6°40’. The Moon in Poorva Phalguni will represent sex and marriage. There would much interest in it. Jyotish Makarand states that there would be differences between the married partners. The individual would therefore be attracted to others. The spouse may be arrogant and dominant. Varah Mihir in Brihajiatakam says that the spouse may be an angry and irritable person. The individual may get wealth through his spouse or marriage when the Moon occupies the sign Leo between 20° and 30°. Jatakabhamam says that the individual will get respect and wealth in the period of the Moon. MARS will be in a friendly sign in the eighth house but being a naturally malefic planet it may not help promote the longevity of the individual. A fiery planet in a fiery sign will very likely cause death through fire or weapon. Horasara states that the trouble from weapons or fire may arise in the period of Mars. Jyotish Makarand says that the individual will face death through serpent bite. Lomash states that the individual may have a beautiful spouse but marriage may not be long lasting. Mars owns the fourth house and in the context of the house it represents property. Placed in a house of damage and destruction in a fiery sign it aeates a possibility of damage to property through fire. This is a good position for superior status and good health of the elder sibling. He may gain through property when Mars occupies Leo between 0° and 3°20'. The aspect of Mars on the third house will represent younger siblings. They will be prone to injury and accident. There could be trouble for the individual through press, communications, and documents when Mars occupies Leo between 16°40' and 30°. The individual may get severely injured if he works in a printing press. MERCURY will be in a friendly sign in the eighth house. It will be ive of the longevity of the individual. This is a fixed sign of the Sun. The individual will have steady mind capable of deep thought. Mercury as owner of the sixth house in the eighth will tend to give raj yoga as it is the owner of a trik house and is placed in another. 0n the other hand it owns the ninth house and placed in the sign of the Sun it will represent the father of the individual. It will remove the father from the place of his birth. He will remain somewhat unhappy and disturbed due to location of Mercury in the eighth house. The aspect of the owner of the sixth house to a sign of Saturn will produce illness. It could happen
in the eye, face, teeth or throat depending on the karaka involved. For example, when the Moon or the Sun is involved the trouble will occur in the eye; when the Moon is involved the trouble could be in the face; and, when Venus is involved the trouble may be seen in the throat. Since the second house has a sign of Saturn irrespective of the karaka involved, trouble may appear in teeth of the individual as well. Kashyap s it and says that the individual will suffer from disease in his mouth. The second house has a constellation of Jupiter. It extends from 20° to 30° in Aquarius. Hence the aspect of Mercury on this span of Poorva Bhadrapada constellation of Jupiter will give wealth due to good fortune of the individual. We know that Mercury owns the ninth house. JUPITER will be in a friendly sign in Leo. As Jupiter is the owner of the twelfth house it is liable to deplete longevity if it is in with Saturn in some manner. Brihat Parashar Hora Shastra states that the individual is likely to enjoy medium span of life. This position of Jupiter gives rise to a rajyoga as it is the owner of a trik house placed in another such house. The individual will be happy, virtuous and of good conduct. Jupiter in Magha may give mystic nature. Jupiter in Poorva Phalguni may give some reason for unhappiness relating to children. The reason is that Venus owns the fifth house and Jupiter in the context of the house will represent children. Since Jupiter is placed in the adverse eighth house there may be some cause for unhappiness in this regard. Jupiter projects aspect to the second house and therefore represents wealth. This is a house owned by Saturn. Jupiter is neutral to Saturn and viceversa. Hence the aspect of Jupiter will indicate average wealth for the individual. Jupiter projects aspect to the fourth house of happiness. This is a friendly aspect. He individual may lead a happy and contented life. The aspect of Jupiter over the span of Bharani in the fourth house will indicate a vehicle. The individual will be fortunate to own a car. VENUS will be in an inimical sign in me eighth house. It owns the fifth house that represents in the context of Venus romance and entertainment. The badly plaoed Venus shows that the individual may not be successful in either of the two. Venus also owns the tenth house. In with Saturn it will represent profession of the individual which will show an unsatisfactory development and the individual may be forced to change his job from time to time. His conduct may not be good. Jatakashiromani s this statement. It also says that the eyesight of the individual will be impaired. When in with Saturn Venus will also give rise to ailments in sexual organs. The aspect of Venus placed in the sign between 20° and 30° will give wealth through the profession of the
individual. Venus in with Jupiter will show children of the individual. He may have difficulties and worry relating to them. Venus is a naturally beneficial planet. Its presence in the eighth house may not be very helpful with regard to the longevity of the individual as Venus is in an inimical sign. He may not have a happy marriage as Venus is a karaka for marriage and it is badly placed. Venus in Magha may show sexual aberration. SATURN will be in an inimical sign in Leo. This is not a good position for the longevity of the individual as Saturn is a karaka for it. Saturn is a karaka for death and it occupies the house for it. Hence Saturn is an agent for death since it is in a sign of the Sun and it owns the ascendant. The individual will lead a disturbed and unhappy life. Jatakashiromani says that the individual will not have happiness from his children and he will be friendless. Phaldeepika also has similar opinion. It says that the individual will be cruel, poor and without friends. It projects aspect to its own second house. It will promote the affairs of the house but without strong from Jupiter there would not be much wealth. Saturn projects aspect to the tenth house. It is a karaka for profession. In the context of this aspect Saturn will represent profession. The aspect is an exalted one hence it may the profession but its adverse placement will also tell upon the profession of the individual. It seems that his profession will proceed apace but once in a while there would be sudden setbacks. Saturn placed in the sign between 6°40’ and 20° will cause loss of reputation on of mischief done by the individual at his job. Saturn projects aspect to the fifth house from Leo. It will cause stomach trouble. RAHU will be in an inimical sign in the eighth house. This is not a good position for the longevity of the individual. The mother of the individual may not be happy with her children. The eldest child of the individual will not have a good domestic life. The individual will be able to entangle women by putting up pretence of romance with them when Rahu is in Poorva Phalguni, and he will exploit them sexually. Phaldeepika states that the individual will not have many children, his conduct will be reprehensible, and he will suffer from rheumatism. The elder sibling of the individual will face trouble at work through his superiors or the government. KETU will be in a friendly sign and in Leo it will promote interest in the individual in yoga and religion. The father of the individual will also be highly religious. This is not a good position for longevity. Lalkitab feels that Mars or Saturn in the seventh house will turn an individual with Ketu in the eighth house
unlucky. Ketu in Poorva Phalguni may pose danger to the life of the spouse of the individual. Virgo Sign in 8th house The SUN will be in a neutral sign. It is the owner of the seventh house and it occupies the eighth. If it is related to Saturn it will indicate death of spouse. Jyotish Makarand too is of the opinion that the spouse may not survive for very long. If the Sun is related to Venus placed in a sign of Mercury in the eighth it could cause several liaisons with the opposite sex. The Sun when strong will give success at business as it is the owner of the seventh house and it occupies a sign of Mercury which is the karaka for business. The individual should earn much from his business as the Sun will project aspect to the second house having a sign of Jupiter. The individual may change his place of residence abroad in the period of the Sun. The Sun represents human body. When it is in virgo sign, which represents a young female, fl'le physical body may assume characteristics of the physique of a young woman. This is what Varah Mihir in Brihajjatakam says. The MOON in the eighth house will relate the sixth house to the eighth. As has been stated earlier this is a rajyoga. The Moon is a naturally beneficial planet when it is waxing. Only such Moon will the longevity of the individual, waning Moon will not do so. The Moon in Chitra constellation of Mars or in with Mars will represent short journeys since Mars owns the third house and the Moon is a significator for short journeys. These journeys obviously will be troublesome and may not be beneficial. The Moon in with Mercury will give an urge to study in depth and accumulate learning. A waxing Moon in with Jupiter should be good for gain of wealth for the individual. The Moon in with Venus may not be conducive to good domestic life. The Moon in with Saturn will give mental disquiet and much worry. Jyotish Makarand says that the individual will have many enemies and he will face the wrath of the government as well. MARS will be in inimical sign in the eighth house. Such a planet in the eighth house is bound to cause curtailment of longevity. This is a place for serious injury and death by violence. In the context of the eighth house Mars will be inclined to give sud'i results. Jyotish Makarand agrees with this conclusion. The violent nature of Mars will be underscored in Hasta or when it occupies Virgo between 20° and 23°20’. The individual will be cruel and bad tempered. Mars
owns the third house. In the context of the house Mars will represent younger siblings. They may be disputatious and may lead a difficult life. In with Saturn it will represent the profession of the individual. Its placement in an inimical sign in the eighth house will show a poor career with several setbacks. As Saturn owns the ascendant this combination raises the possibility of death of the individual through violence. Mars in with Jupiter is capable of giving benefits through a lottery or legacy. Jupiter in the context of the eleventh house stands for elder sibling too. When Jupiter is in with Mars it will be dangerous for him. Mars is the karaka for property. Venus owns the fourth house of property in the chart. Mars in with Venus will cause trouble though property. Venus is the karaka for vehicles. In the context of the fourth house Venus will stand for vehicle. Mars in with Venus will therefore be prone to cause serious vehicular mishaps. Mars in Uttar Phalguni in with Venus will indicate heart trouble. MERCURY will be exalted in the eighth house. It projects a debilitated aspect to the second house of speech. Hence some difficulty in this regard is possible. The second house has a sign of Jupiter. Hence the debilitated aspect of Mercury on the house will tend to cause financial constraints. However, the aspect of Mercury on the second house from the eighth connects the second with the eighth. In addition Jupiter owns the second and eleventh houses. Hence Mercury will give unearned wealth through lottery or legacy. The individual may not have a happy family. Mercury in Virgo between 3°20' and 16°40' will aggravate these indications. Mercury is a naturally beneficial planet. It will add substantially to the longevity of the individual when it is exalted in the eighth house. Mahadev in Jatakatatva s this statement. Kashyap states that exalted Mercury in the eighth house will cause death by fever. It owns the fifth house and would indicate an urge for learning and deep study but Mercury in Uttar Phalguni will represent the stomach of the individual and he may have to contend with some trouble in that part of the body. Mercury in with Jupiter will represent children. More than the average number of children will be born to the individual. Mercury in with Venus will give many romances. Mercury in with Rahu may make the person unreliable. Mercury in with Ketu may make the mind confused. This is not a good combination for clear exercise of the intellect. In some cases mind may become subservient to intuition JUPITER will be in an inimical sign in the eighth house. There is a possibility of gain of wealth through lottery, or legacy. Jupiter is the best naturally beneficial planet. Hence it will tend to improve the longevity of the individual though
being in an inimical sign it will not be able to achieve as much as it in normal course should have. Bhrigu is more specific. He says that the individual will be long lived only when Jupiter is exalted or is in its own sign. Jupiter is the owner of the second house hence in Uttar Phalguni or Hasta it will represent the eye of the individual and being unsatisfactorily placed in the eighth house it may cause some trouble in the eye. Jupiter placed in Virgo between 3°20’ and 16°40' will deplete the wealth of the individual as Saturn owns the twelfth house. Jupiter is the karaka for happiness and contentment. The fourth house stands for these. Therefore the aspect of Jupiter to this house from the eighth will represent these two feelings in the individual. As the aspect is inimical, the individual is unlikely to be happy and contented in life. It will also be so for the eldest child of the individual as Jupiter occupies the fourth house from the fifth in an inimical sign. Jupiter so placed in the fifth house from the fourth will cause unhappiness to the mother of the individual in regard to her children. This is the second house from the seventh representing wealth of the spouse and her family. Jupiter in the context of this house represents her wealth. Badly placed Jupiter causes unsatisfactory state of wealth for her. VENUS will be debilitated in the eighth house. This is a bad position for Venus. Hence the signification of Venus will not do well in the chart. Sexual organs stand to have some trouble with this position of Venus. Venus in with the Sun will represent the father of the individual since it owns the ninth house. Hence the father will lead a poor life and he will be short lived. The Sun owns the seventh house. In with Venus it will give an unhappy marriage. If Venus is in with the Moon the same conclusion can be drawn for the mother of the individual since Venus owns the fourth house as well. Venus is the representative of vehicle in the chart. The individual will face trouble on of his vehicles and if a naturally malefic planet influences Venus the death of the individual may also be caused by a vehicle. Venus will project exalted aspect to the second house where a sign ofJupiter is placed. Hence the individual will be wealthy. Both Saravali and Phaldeepika this conclusion. SATURN will be in a friendly sign in the eighth house. Mahadev in Jatakatatva states that Saturn as a karaka for longevity will improve the longevity of the individual when it occupies the eighth house. We have to keep in mind that Saturn is the owner of the twelfth house and it also owns the ascendant. Being the owner of the twelfth house Saturn indicates depletion. Saturn in the eighth house represents longevity. Such Saturn in the eighth house will cause depletion in longevity. Hence we cannot take that Saturn in Virgo in the eighth house will
improve longevity of the individual. Saturn owns the ascendant too. It could be in Uttar Phalguni constellation of the Sun in the eighth house and then it would be a strong agent for death of the individual. Saturn will project aspect to the tenth house from the eighth. In the context of the tenth house Saturn will represent profession of the individual. The tenth house has Scorpio which is not a friendly sign to Saturn. Hence the aspect of Saturn on the tenth house from the eighth house will cause setbacks in profession of the individual. We have seen that Saturn is a planet for depletion in this chart. It projects aspect to the second house of the individual. As Pisces is placed in the second house the impact of Saturn on the second house will be on the finances of the individual. This will cause depletion of wealth. Bhattanarayan in Chamatkar Chintamani s this conclusion. Saturn will also project aspect to the fifth house from the ascendant. Saturn placed in Virgo between 20° and 30° will deny the individual children or some of his children may die. In this case the aspect of Saturn will fall on the span of Punarvasu in the fifth house. This span in the context of the fifth stands for children of the individual. Varah Mihir in Brihajjatakam states that the individual may not have many children. RAHU may be considered well placed in Virgo but the eighth house is not a good place to have Rahu. Bhrigu does not consider Rahu good for the health and longevity of the individual in the eighth house. Rahu in the context of the eighth house represents secret and unknown knowledge. Virgo is a sign of details and thoroughness. He may have ability to do good research. Rahu in with Saturn may represent a disease that could not be properly diagnosed or treated. The spouse of the individual may not be a person to rely upon. KETU will be in an inimical eighth house and will act against the longevity of the individual. Bhrigu agrees to this view. Ketu is a planet that is highly psychic and in a house having affinity to secret and dark powers, its presence in an inimical sign will cause it to turn the individual to black magic and lower forms of Tantra. The mind will come to agree to the existence and acceptance of such practices without realizing the possibility that such practices can also rebound on the practitioner. The spouse of the individual may not be well behaved and good tempered. Libra Sign in 8th house The SUN will be debilitated in the eighth house. It is the owner of the sixth house and in the context of the sixth house it represents fire. The presence of
debilitated Sun in the eighth house will not help promote the longevity of the individual. The Sun in Chitra will represent father of the individual. This will be so since Mars owns the ninth house and the Sun is the karaka for father: When the Sun is debilitated it will indicate that the father was not prominent. He had led life amidst inadequacies. The Sun in Chitra will also represent the eye of the individual. The Sun is the owner of the sixth house. When in Chitra it will represent fire since Mars in the context of the sixth house shows fire or weapon. The individual may die in a fire or by weapon. The Sun in Swati will represent deception. Rahu owns the constellation and in the context of the sixth house will represent deception. As the Sun projects aspect to the second house having a sign of Mars, the elder sibling of the individual may experience deception with regard to his property. The Sun in WShakha will represent the physical body of the individual. Pisces is in the ascendant. Jupiter owns it. It owns the constellation. The Sun in the context of the ascendant will indicate the physical body. Weak and badly placed Sun will therefore indicate lack of vitality, poor constitution, and weak body. Jupiter also owns me tenth house. In the context of this house the Sun will represent high status, authority, and prominent position. Its debilitation in the eighth house shows complete absence of these characteristics in the life of the individual. Saravali says that the individual may get no patronage from the government. It can also sometimes show that the individual may become respected and prominent after his death. The Moon in with the Sun will represent the stomach of the individual and badly placed Sun will indicate the weak spot of the constitution which may give trouble to the individual from time to time. Something similar can be suggested for the heart of the individual when Mercury is in with the Sun. Mercury owns the fourth house. The Sun in the context of the fourth house will represent the heart of the individual. Mercury is the karaka for maternal uncle. The sixth house represents maternal uncle. The Sun in the context of the sixth house will show maternal uncle. When the Sun is debilitated it shows that the maternal side of the family will be inconsequential. The Sun in the context of the sixth house will represent disease and trouble when it is in with Saturn. In the eighth house it shows death after illness. The MOON in Libra will relate the fifth house to the eighth. The Moon in Chitra represents the eye of the individual. Under adverse influence of a naturally malefic planet there could be serious trouble in the eye. The Moon in Swati will keep him mentally disturbed. His mother may also be unhappy. The Moon in Vishakha will represent children of the individual and its presence in the eighth house will cause some trouble relating to them. The aspect of the Moon will help
the individual acquire wealth. He will be fun loving. Hora Ratnam states that the individual will be good looking. We have to keep in mind that the eighth house is analogous to Scorpio in the natural zodiac and therefore the Moon by its very presence in the house gets weakened. The significations of the Moon will therefore suffer. Horasara states that the individual will face trouble on of his wife or through women and he will feel financial constraint in the period of the Moon. As we have already seen waning Moon is a naturally malefic planet and its presence in the eighth house will not be conducive to long life. Waxing Moon will add to the longevity. MARS will be in a neutral sign in the eighth house. Mars in the context of the house signifies killing and fatal accidents or injuries. In Swati it will represent air journeys abroad. These may not be free of trouble. Some could even be dangerous. In Vishakha it will represent wealth and good fortune. The individual will be able to have good wealth as Mars projects aspect to the second house but its bad placement in the eighth house will damage his faith in religion. Mars projects an exalted aspect to the eleventh house. This will give wealth provided Mars has with Jupiter: Jyotish Makarand states that the individual may get unearned wealth. The third house represents younger siblings of the individual. Mars projects aspect to the house. In the context of the third house Mars represents younger siblings. As it is badly placed the younger siblings will not lead a happy life and the relations of the individual with them may remain strained. Mars placed in the sign between 10° and 23°20’ will cause difficult and dangerous short journeys. MERCURY will be in a friendly sign in the eighth house and will therefore add to the longevity of the individual. Mercury is the owner of the fourth house. In the context of the house it represents education. The individual is likely to make a study of underground conditions, such as seismic studies, archaeology, mineral or oil exploration, etc. Mercury is the owner of the seventh house. It occupies a sign of Venus hence it will represent marriage, sex, and spouse. There may be certain secrecy in relationship or the spouse may not divulge all matters. The second house from the seventh represents the speech of the spouse and Mercury therein will represent it. It is placed in a sign of Venus. The speech of the spouse will be pleasant and she will be very talkative. Mansagari s this conclusion. She will find pleasure in talking. Mercury projects aspect to the second house of the chart. In the context of the house it will represent speech of the individual but the house has a sign of Mars. This will lend certain harshness and rapidity to the speech. Mercury in Vishakha will give wealth to the spouse of
the individual as the second house is the house of wealth for her. JUPITER will be in an inimical sign in the eighth house. This is an unsatisfactory position for Jupiter since the significations of Jupiter will suffer. The ability of Jupiter to ensure good fortune, wealth, children, happiness, success, gain etc will be severely curtailed. When Jupiter is in with Saturn it will be dangerous for the longevity of the individual. Jupiter owns the tenth house and in with Saturn it will represent the profession of the individual. Its occupation of the eighth house will cause trouble in profession, setbacks, and humiliation. Jupiter in Chitra will represent wealth since Mars owns the second house. The aspect of Jupiter to the second house will be friendly. Hence the individual may have some wealth. Mars owns the ninth house and Jupiter in the context of the ninth house will show religion and good fortune for the individual. In both the cases there will be unsatisfactory state. The individual will not be fortunate and he will hardly have interest in religion. Jupiter will project aspect to the twelfth house. When Jupiter occupies Libra between 6°40’ and 20° it will project aspect to that span of the twelfth house that is covered by Satbhishaka. Rahu in the context of the twelfth house will represent curtailment of liberty for the individual. Jupiter owns the ascendant. Hence the individual will be in danger of some restraint on his liberty. Bhattanarayan in Chamatkar Chintamani states that the individual will not keep good health. VENUS will be in its own sign in the eighth house and being therefore strong and a naturally beneficial planet it will add to the longevity of the individual. Bhrigu says that the individual will enjoy good longevity. The individual and his wife will be good looking. She will be wealthy when Venus occupies Vishakha. The mother of the individual will be artistic and creative. The elder child of the individual will have good vehicles. Venus in with Mars will cause injury to the younger sibling. Venus in the context of the second house will represent the throat of the individual. Its inimical aspect to the second house could cause trouble in throat. SATURN will be exalted in the eighth house. Saturn owns the eleventh and twelfth houses in the chart. Saturn is therefore a factor for causing loss and separation. Saturn is the karaka for longevity and placed in the eighth house it will govern the longevity of the individual. It is exalted there. Hence it will enhance the prospects of the individual living long. Mahadev in Jatakatatva states that the individual will be long lived. It is reasonable to agree with
Mahadev in Jatakatatva in this regard unless Saturn is under heavy adverse influence. Saturn in Chitra will represent law as Mars owns the ninth house and Saturn in the context of the ninth house represents law. When it is placed in the eighth house the individual is likely to benefit from a legal issue arising out of a death. Saturn in Swati will represent loss of liberty, as the twelfth house shows loss of liberty, Saturn owns the house, and Rahu in the context of the twelfth house represents such loss. When Saturn influences the ascendant and the Sun the individual is likely to lose his liberty. Saturn in Vishakha will give gain and success since the eleventh house in the context of Jupiter stands for gain and success. Saturn projects aspect to the tenth house. Saturn placed in Libra between 0° and 13°20’ will project aspect to the span of Moola constellation of Ketu. The aspect will go to an inimical span. The individual is likely to face some unwelcome changes in profession. Saturn placed in Libra between 13°20’ and 26°40’ will cover the span of Poorva Asadha constellation of Venus. This is a friendly span. The aspect of Saturn will give favourable results. The individual is likely to gain through his profession and he may be attended with success at his job. This is all the more so as the tenth house has a sign of Jupiter: Similarly, when Saturn occupies Libra between 26°40' and 30°, he may face certain legal complications in his profession caused by the government. The aspect of Saturn to the second house will be a debilitated one. Its effect will be of the twelfth house. There could be break up in the family. The aspect of Saturn on the fifth house too will be inimical. There could be delay in birth of children and unhappiness on their . RAHU will be in a friendly sign in the eighth house. His sex and love relations may be of an unconventional kind. When Rahu is in Chitra the individual may get married or have relationship abroad. Rahu in Vishakha may cause trouble in profession due to some nefarious act of the individual. The individual will be intent on acquiring material prosperity. Luxurious living standard and pleasures will be on his priority list. He will be keen to enjoy life at any expense. These tendencies will get intensified when Venus is under adverse influence. Sarvarth Chintamani states that the individual may face trouble from thieves and criminals. This position may not be adverse for longevity. KETU will be in an inimical sign in the eighth house and it will have a deleterious effect on the longevity of the individual. Ketu is exalted in Scorpio. The eighth house is analogous to Scorpio in the natural zodiac but its presence in an inimical sign takes away from whatever inclination Ketu may have to give good results. Ketu is a planet of the bizarre. In a sign of Venus that is analogous
to the seventh house the impact of Ketu will fall on sexual organs and clandestine sexual preferences of the individual. There may be some malfunction in sex or the individual may have bizarre sexual preferences. Ketu in the eighth promotes interest in psychic phenomenon and gives an urge to immerse oneself in the field of extra-sensory powers but in an inimical sign the efforts of the individual in this direction will come to a naught. Ketu in Chitra will be in a friendly sign but its positive impact will still be minimal. Ketu in Swati will be badly disturbed as it will be in an inimical constellation. Ketu in Vishakha will bring the individual into close with the supra-mundane. This will be confined to interest in this field but nothing much will be achieved. However, the impact of Jupiter will be towards balance in sexual life. Sarvarth Chintamani states that sub-period of a naturally malefic planet in the majorperiod of Ketu placed in the eighth house will be highly adverse. The state of Venus in the chart will help analyse the effect of Ketu in the eighth house. Scorpio Sign in 8th house The SUN in Scorpio will be in a friendly sign. It is the owner of the fifth house. Its bad placement in the house will cause some trouble in the stomach of the individual. When the Sun occupies Jyeshtha or it is related to Mercury the individual will not have much interest in learning. The Sun takes on a fiery character as Mercury owns the sixth house which is the house of fire in the context of the house. The death of the individual could happen due to injuries caused by fire. The Sun in with Jupiter or in Vishakha will represent children. He may have some cause for unhappiness on their . Since Jupiter owns the ninth house the Sun in the context of the ninth house will represent father of the individual and it may cause trouble to father or he may be cause of trouble to the individual. The Sun in with Venus will represent romance. There could be break up in romance. The Sun in with Saturn or in Anuradha constellation of Saturn will cause humiliation, loss of reputation and trouble from the government. If the Sun is under influence of a naturally beneficial planet the status of the individual may improve. Both Varah Mihir in Brihajiatakam and Saravali have stated that the individual will suffer from eye trouble. The MOON will be debilitated in the eighth house. This is not a good position for the welfare of the mother of the individual or his own mental equipoise. Varah Mihir in Brihajjatakam says that the individual will have a fickle mind. The Moon in Vishakha will represent the happiness and contentment of the
individual. These will be limited in the life of the individual as the Moon is in debilitation. The Moon in Anuradha will cause balarishta. It may also cause death of the mother of the individual. The Moon in Jyeshtha will represent the educational performance of the individual. This will be very poor with several breaks. The individual is likely to die while on a short journey. There may be eye trouble when the Moon is in with Venus. Venus in the context of the fourth house represents vehicle. The Moon in with Venus will represent death due to vehicle. He may be interested in psychic phenomenon when the Moon is in with Ketu. MARS will be in its own sign but as has been stated above, it is also the owner of the ascendant and hence in with Saturn or in Anuradha it will be a death dealing planet for the individual. It may make the individual fortunate when it is in Vishakha or is in with Jupiter. But this position will not be good for long life of the father. Mars in Jyeshtha or in with Mercury will represent the younger siblings of the individual. They may have a good life but the eighth house is the sixth from the third. Hence they will be prone to get injured or they may have to undergo surgery. Mars will also give rise to litigation or trouble by enemies for them. Since Mars will be in relationship with the sixth house from the ascendant we can expect similar results for the individual as well. Mars will give good income when Mars occupies the sign between 20° and 30°. Otherwise Mars will not success or gains for the individual. Bhattanarayan in Chamatkar Chintamani states that the friends of the individual may turn into foes. It may cause injury in the eye of the individual. Bhrigu says that the individual will have good longevity when Mars has influence of a naturally beneficial planet. It may cause eye disease according to Bhrigu. MERCURY will be in a neutral sign. Mercury as the owner of the third house in a sign of Mars will represent younger siblings. They may lead an indifferent life. Mercury as the owner of the sixth house in a sign of Mars will cause injuries of serious nature. The individual may suffer from pain in lower abdomen. Mercury is a naturally beneficial planet hence its presence in the eighth house will help promote longevity of the individual. The individual will like to read and write on occult matters. Mercury in Vishakha will further strengthen this inclination. His spouse may have a sharp tongue. The sixth house represents maternal uncle of the individual. Mercury is the karaka for him. Hence Mercury in the context of the sixth will be representative of the maternal uncle of the individual. Its presence in the eighth house is not good for the overall prosperity and happiness of the uncle. Any planet in the eighth house in with Saturn or in a
constellation of Saturn like Anuradha will be a potent agent for death. It may cause death of the individual if it is also related to the ascendant; it may cause death of or serious trouble to the younger sibling when it is related to the mird house; it may cause death of or serious trouble to the mother when it is related to the fourth house; it may cause death of or serious trouble to elder child when it is related to the fifth house; it may cause death of or serious trouble to the maternal uncle when it is related to the sixth house; it may cause death of or serious trouble to the spouse when it is related to the seventh house; it may cause death of or serious trouble to the father when it is related to the ninth house; or it may cause death of or serious trouble to the elder sibling when it is related to the eleventh house. Its with the concerned karaka clarifies matters further. For example, when the agent for death is related to both Mars and the third house it would be apparent that it would cause death of or serious trouble to the younger sibling. When the karaka is not involved results of the of the agent of death with the house may not come out as expected. JUPITER will be in a friendly sign in the eighth house. Jupiter owns the ninth house and in the context of the house it represents good fortune and religion. It is a naturally beneficial planet and occupies a sign that is friendly to it. Hence as suggested by Phaldeepika and Saravali Jupiter should enhance the prospects of long life for the individual. However, there is an exception. When Jupiter is in Anuradha it will act as an agent of depletion and loss. It owns the twelfth house and Saturn is the karaka for depletion and loss. Hence Jupiter will then operate the significations of the twelfth house and will deplete longevity of the individual. Since the eighth house is a bad place for any planet to be in, the placement of Jupiter in the house will tell adversely on the affairs of the houses that it owns and on its karakatwa. Therefore the guru of the individual may face adversity, the individual himself may not be religious, and he may face spells of misfortune. His affairs may not go through smoothly. Jupiter projects aspect to the twelfth house where its own sign is placed. This is the place of good fortune for the mother of the individual and of longevity for the eldest child. Both these would be promoted by the aspect of Jupiter on the house. The aspect that Jupiter projects on the second house is inimical. Jupiter represents wealm in the context of the second house. Hence the aspect would not promote wealth of the individual. Jupiter projects exalted aspect to the fourth house and will make the individual lead a happy and contented life. Jupiter placed in Scorpio between 16°40' and 30° will ensure a brilliant educational career for the individual. The individual may do well at agriculture when Jupiter occupies Scorpio between 3°20’ and 16°40
VENUS will be in a neutral place in the eighth house. Venus owns the second house and in the context of the house it represents the throat. Venus in Anuradha could therefore tell us that the cause of death of the individual may lie in his throat. The second house stands for the longevity of the spouse. Venus owns the house. It occupies an adverse house and the sign is also not helpful. The longevity of the spouse will be unsatisfactory. Venus owns the seventh house in the chart. It represents marriage and sex. The individual may not be happy with his marriage. Venus in Vishakha may give a raised libido. Venus in Anuradha could cause gain through spouse but Venus in Scorpio between 6°40’ and 10° will cause divorce in marriage. Venus in Jyeshtha will give many partners in sex. SATURN will be in an inimical sign. Saravali states that the individual will be miserable and will suffer from disease. It owns the tenth and eleventh houses. When it occupies the eighth house which is a trik house in an inimical sign these affairs relating to these two houses are likely to suffer. However, Saturn will project aspect to the tenth house and hence it will help the affairs of the house remain on an even keel, but the affairs of the eleventh do not have any such assistance. When Saturn occupies Vishakha or it is in with Jupiter the individual will not have good income, he will not be successful, and his elder sibling will face vicissitudes in his life. Saturn is a naturally malefic planet. When it occupies an inimical sign, it is difficult to accept that it will still assist the individual to live long. Saturn will not give good longevity. On the contrary Saturn in Vishakha or in with Jupiter will be an agent for loss or depletion. It will therefore deplete longevity. Saturn in Jyeshtha will be an agent for obstruction, delay, and disease. Its aspect to the second house will cause trouble in the family and eye. It may also cause trouble or delay in accumulation of wealth. The adverse effect of Saturn on the second house will be marginal as the aspect is friendly. Saturn occupying the eighth house is an agent of death. This has been explained above in respect of Mercury hence it is not being repeated. Saturn will cast its inimical aspect on the fifth house. Saturn in the sign Scorpio between 0° and 13°20’ will turn the individual into an agnostic. He will not be interested in devotional aspect of religion. Saturn in Scorpio between 13°20’ and 26°40' will cause death of the romantic partner: The individual will not be able to have good relations with his paramour. His love affairs will be source of much unhappiness for him and his family. He will not have artistic abilities. Saturn in Scorpio shows that the individual is likely to die due to complications in his stomach. RAHU will be debilitated in the eighth house. Rahu in this trik house is
troublesome. When it is debilitated in the house it will be source of major unhappiness. Bhaskaracharya in Bhaskar Deep Chandrika states that the individual may die of snake bite. In Vishakha it may cause death in captivity or abroad. Rahu in Anuradha will give rise to trouble in profession due to the unscrupulous ways of the individual. Rahu will cause difficult diseases. Rahu in Jyeshtha will cause trouble through deception. The maternal uncle of the individual will be cause of much mischief. The spouse of the individual will be very aggressive and short tempered. KETU will be exalted in the eighth house. Ketu is considered very well placed in Scorpio. It will give psychic powers and ability to beings of other worlds. The individual will be able to make use of these tendencies when the Moon in the chart has with Ketu. Since Ketu controls the bizarre, its presence in the eighth house sometimes gives rise to death in bizarre or very unusual circumstances. The spouse of the individual will be apathetic to wealth and family affairs. The eldest child of the individual may be disionate about his home and mother. Sagittarius Sign in 8th house The SUN will be in a friendly sign in the eighth house. It relates the fourth house to the eighth. The fourth house ownership of the Sun makes it a representative of the heart of the individual. The Sun placed in the eighth house makes the individual susceptible to heart trouble. When the Sun is in Poorva Asadha constellation of Venus and has influence of Saturn it may produce heart trouble. This is so since Venus owns the ascendant and the sixth house. When the Sun is related to Mars there could be heart surgery. The Sun in with Saturn will also represent the fewer of the individual as Saturn owns the ninth house. The Sun will act as an agent to kill the father: The Sun will also be the representative of high position for the individual as Saturn owns the tenth house as well. The individual may face fall from high position. The Sun in Moola will give keen interest in supernatural powers and the occult. The Sun in with Mars will indicate the possibility of the individual making a temple. The Sun in with Mercury will produce learning in the individual and when the Sun is related to Saturn possibility of disease in the stomach. Jyotish Makarand says that the individual will be long lived but he may not have happiness from his father and he may also not get much property from him. The MOON will relate the third house to the eighth. Brihat Parashar Hora
Shastra states that the individual may be a thief. The Moon in with Mars will represent younger siblings of the individual. Its placement in an adverse trik house will not be good for the younger siblings particularly when the Moon is in with a naturally malefic planet. When the Moon is in with Saturn it may cause deafl'l of the younger sibling. Jyotish Makarand states that the individual may not have happiness from his younger siblings. According to this authority the individual may have balan'shta for the first eight years of his life. The individual may have to undertake troublesome short journeys. The Moon in with Mercury will indicate inclination to write and communicate. The individual may write with authority on religious and philosophical subjects. The individual may suffer from trouble in his arms when the Moon is under influence of a naturally malefic planet. The Moon in Moola will give interest in supernatural phenomenon. The Moon in Poorva Asadha will be bad for the physical well being of the individual when a naturally malefic planet afflicts the Moon. The Moon in Uttar Asadha will represent the mind and mother of the individual. The state of the Moon in the eighth house will determine the state of mind of the individual and the kind of life his mother will live. MARS will be in a friendly sign in the eighth house. It will not harm the longevity of the individual till it is in with Saturn. Mars owns the twelfth house. Saturn is the karaka for loss and depletion. If Saturn is in with Mars in the eighth house Mars will deplete the longevity. Mars owns the seventh house in the chart. When it is in Poorva Asadha it will represent the spouse of the individual. Mars is a fiery planet. Sagittarius is a fiery sign. Hence the spouse will be a person with short temper. Jyotish Makarand says that the married life of the individual will not be happy. Mars projects an inimical aspect to the second house of family. The influence of the spouse of the individual on his family will not be happy. There will be trouble in the family on her . Mars being the owner of the seventh house in Poorva Asadha will represent sex and urinary system of the individual. These may have adverse effect of location of Mars in the eighth house. Mars stands for denial as it owns the twelfth house. Mars is in Poorva Asadha. Saturn occupies the sign of Mars in the seventh house. Mars in Uttar Asadha could cause cardiac trouble as the Sun owns the fourth house that stands for the heart. Mars in the eighth house projects aspect to the eleventh which is owned by Jupiter: The individual may gain though death or he may come by wealth without earning it. Mars under influence of a naturally malefic planet could cause gain of wealth through a criminal act as well. The debilitated aspect of Mars on the third house is not good for the welfare of the younger siblings. Mars being a karaka for the younger siblings and the third house being
one that represents them will together cause much trouble for the younger siblings. Kashyap states that the individual may die due to injury by wood. MERCURY will be in a neutral sign in the eighth house. Mercury owns the second and fifth houses in the chart. Placed in a sign of Jupiter it will represent wealth and children. It may give adverse results relating to children of the individual when it is under adverse influence of a naturally malefic planet but it will still promote wealth of the individual as it projects aspect to its own second house. The individual is unlikely to be happy with regard to his children. Mercury in Moola will not give good results as it is not friendly to the constellation. Mercury in Poorva Asadha will give good aesthetic sense and opportunity for romance. He may face dissatisfaction in romance as he may not be faithful in it. He may be learned in philosophical and occult knowledge when Mercury is in Uttar Asadha. JUPITER will be in its own sign in the eighth house. Jupiter being strong in the eighth house will improve longevity of the individual. According to Bhrigu when Jupiter is in his own sign in the eighth house the individual will be long lived, free from diseases, and he will be a saintly person. He will be learned in religious literature. Jupiter owns the eleventh house too in the chart hence it in all probability will give wealth through lottery. Jupiter is the karaka for elder sibling. In the context of the eleventh house it will represent elder sibling. The elder sibling of the individual will have a good career. The spouse of the individual will be a sober and balanced person. She will speak with responsibility. She will also be wealthy since the eighth is the second house from the seventh and Jupiter is the karaka for wealth. Jupiter in the context of the house will give wealth to her. The mother of the individual will be very happy with her children who will be long lived and prosperous. The eldest child of the individual may have a happy married life. The father of the individual will prosper at a new place a short distance from where he was born. Mansagari states that the individual will be of good conduct and fond of pilgrimages. Saravali says that the individual will be philanthropic and helpful. Jupiter in Moola will give interest in the occult and philosophy. Jupiter in Poorva Asadha will give vehicles as Venus is the karaka for vehicles and Jupiter projects aspect to the fourth house. It will make the eldest child fortunate. It is good for the success and happiness of the younger sibling. The mother of the individual may be engaged in an artistic pursuit. She may be energetic and impressive. When Jupiter is in with Saturn it will cause fever, rashes, etc to the elder sibling. Jupiter in with Rahu will negate the good effects that have been
described above. VENUS will be in a neutral sign in the eighth house. Venus in with Saturn will be capable of causing death after severe illness. Venus in with the Sun or placed in UttarAsadha will give heart trouble. Venus in Moola will give rise to physical deformity. Venus is a karaka for throat and the second house represents it. Hence the aspect of Venus on the second house will represent throat. The individual may have some trouble in his throat. The spouse of the individual will be good looking and she will speak well. This will be a good position for the prosperity of the eldest child of the individual. It may cause trouble to the elder sibling in his profession. The individual may have benefit of good longevity when Venus occupies the eighth house and he may be prosperous as Venus will project a friendly aspect to the second house from a sign of Jupiter. Kerala Sutras states that the individual may die of diabetes. SATURN will be in a neutral sign. This is a good position for the longevity of the individual. Saturn in the eighth house will cause tr0uble to the mother of the individual through her children. She may endure health problems during her pregnancy. This is a good position for the elder sibling of the individual for income through his profession. The spouse of the individual may be a serious minded person and she may talk very little. Saturn owns the ninth house. In a sign of Jupiter it will represent good fortune of the individual and his interest in religion. Bad location of Saturn will cause some setback to both of these. When Saturn is in with the Sun it will represent the father of the individual. It will represent death just by being in the eighth house. Hence Saturn in with the Sun in the eighth house will cause death of the father of the individual. Such Saturn will cause trouble in the stomach for the eldest child and the mother of the individual. Saturn will project aspect to its own sign in the tenth house. Hence Saturn will promote profession of the individual. Varah Mihir in Brihajjatakam states that the individual may have confidence of the government. He may have children late and some worry due to them. Horasara states that the individual may gain wealth in the period of Saturn. RAHU will not be in a friendly sign in the eighth house. In fact it will be kodand Rahu. Jataka Ratna Pradeep states that Rahu will destroy wealth of the individual. He may die due to an unknown disease when Rahu is in Poorva Asadha. Rahu in Uttar Asadha may cause heart trouble. Rahu in with Saturn may cause death abroad. The journeys abroad of the individual may not be satisfactory. The mother of the individual will be troubled by her children. Here Jupiter is the owner of the sixth house of disease and obstruction. Placed in a sign of Saturn it will promote these significations. This means that Jupiter will be an agent to cause death by illness. The house with which it is related will show the relative who will so suffer. If Jupiter is related to the ascendant the likelihood is that the individual himself will die of illness. Jupiter in Dhanishtha will manifest violent or disruptive results. This will be so as Jupiter owns the sixth house and Mars is the karaka for violence and disruption. Jupiter is the karaka for children and Mars owns the fifth house. When Mercury is in Uttar Bhadrapada or is in with Saturn the elder
sibling will face a serious threat to his longevity from it. The spouse of the individual may have some flaw in her speech as Mercury in her second house would represent her speech.
